I accidentally read the original version of the little mermaid as a child. I’d seen the Disney version first so thought that was how it was meant to be and that’s what I was expecting. I was surprised, disappointed and depressed by the fact the little mermaid wasn’t Ariel, didn’t have red hair or wear the purple seashell bra (or any bra), the transformation to human was painful and she died in the end.

Keeper of FelixMy hope, and I posted this in the Hookriel thread, is that Ariel doesn’t get her happy ending and instead of dying she’s banished to Neverland as her penance. I loved the movie but was never a fan of Eric, so I have no problem with this turn. It’s just dark enough to work with what we’ve seen of Neverland. They can tie the original material in with the Disney version. Pick out bits and pieces of both versions. I think that would be awesome.

Someone speculated that Ariel’s kingdom could be called Atlantis, so maybe?

Who ever speculated on this before I believe is right. You can only do some much in NL, and this would be tied in some how but Ariel could fit in and maybe that is why they aren’t introducting her till latter. This will be were Rumble got the ink from.
In the Disney version it’s called Atlantica, but that’s so close I can see them changing it to Atlantis. But would they have mermaids in two lands?

I don’t think they’re going to introduce Atlantis right now, and I just get the feeling that they specifically said “mermaids” in Neverland for a reason. Maybe she was originally from Atlantis and banished to Neverland, but I think she’ll show up there.
It was mentioned in one of the Belle threads that she maybe she’ll be able to communicate with a mirror to Rumple since B&TB has one in it and Rumple will have to get it off of Ariel since she has odds and ends of things in the movie. Plus, I think Rumple and Ariel have a history with the Squid Ink.
