I didn’t say he thought he was going to die. He told Belle to cloak SB and said they wouldn’t be able to return there because of that.
It’s not all about RumBelle (which is why I specifically mentioned all the other people there that they love – Snow & Red are best friends, Archie’s a close friend, we know how close Snow is to Team 7 etc.) So yes, while it would be nice to have RumBelle be able to interact, it’s not all about RumBelle.
Mulan and Aurora went off on their own quest. They weren’t tied to anybody but Snow & Emma and they parted ways and wished each other luck. It’s sad that they haven’t gotten to find out how the others did on their respective quests, but they chose to stay where they were (Mulan went back to help Aurora and Aurora wanted to go off on a mission to save Phillip, just like they knew Snow & Emma were off to reunite with their loved ones).
I think we’ll get some along the way since Neal is with them (and the dream thing could connect Aurora to somebody and that would be a way of letting someone know Neal is alive). I think we’ll get at least a little overlap with MAP and they should be *fairly* happy right now since they’ve apparently gotten Phillip back (hope we get to learn about that when we see Neal in FTL interacting with them and I think we will).
I’ll agree that for the most part the SB group got along fine without Snow & Emma but they had Charming there to pick up the slack too. With King George goodness knows where and up to what, they might need help too at some point. Plus it’s never fun to be completely cut off and worried about the people you love so even if they can get along just fine, they may want to talk to people once in awhile just to make sure they’re ok.
Communication isn’t always about “help” but about “hope” too – knowing the people you love are still out there instead of playing a million bad-case scenarios in your head is a good thing (especially when our main group have enough on their plates already). I don’t think they’d communicate super early on, but maybe at some point something like the mirror would come into play (and would be especially useful in telling Belle how to undo what Rumple told her to cloak SB so that they could return). It would be a nice nod to the story we know and love (B&tB using the mirror) and it would also serve a legitimate purpose storywise in helping them return to SB to be reunited with the rest of their loved ones not on the ship.

This. Almost everyone aboard the JR left behind a friend or someone they care about deeply. To tie all the stories together, it’s going to be important that they all manage to communicate somehow. I’m like 99.5% convinced the Red Room will cover the NL crew and those in FTL. But we gotta get NL and SB to talk to each other, especially once Rumple realizes Bae is alive, then he can ask Belle to go after him. And that’s where the mirror comes in. Now, the mirror is just my pet theory, it could be something else. But I kinda love the mirror.

But you are right maybe latter on the mirror can be used for something else maybe when they all go to OZ huh 😉

I seriously doubt it Rumble asks Belle to go after Bae, I think it will be Emma and her family that saves Bae. As they will have to figure away to get to Bae and Rumble wants to be the hero to save his son this time.

June 3, 2013 at 12:30 am #197040RumplesGirlKeymasterEmma can’t. She has to get Henry. Everyone’s focus who is in NL will be on Henry. Belle is the perfect candidate to go after Bae.

Well, a few problems with Ella. 1) We don’t know the actress and actor’s availability. 2) They aren’t really big characters. Grumpy and Blue and Granny are much bigger and more loved. They make more sense to help out Belle because we already know and love them. Ella was a once off, really.

Yea, I agree with your #2 🙂
Note: Belle wouldn’t have gotten the curse is she wasn’t the only one on the dock, they didn’t have time to give to someone else. 🙁

Those characters served their purpose in season 1 and won’t be seen again.

Rumple gave Belle the cloaking spell because she’s the only person in SB who he actually trusts. Even if BF, a professional at casting spells was standing right there, Rumple still would have given it to Belle, who has never cast a magical spell in her life.

Agreed with pretty much all of this! I’m not 100% sold on the two way mirror communication yet, just because I haven’t worked Rumple into my Ariel headcanon in any definite way, but I’m coming around to the idea, because it would connect things together quite nicely. The mirror could even work if there’s only one of them and it’s in SB, and Belle figures out how to use it. If Charmingstiltskins&Co learns about Nealfire via Aurora in the Red Room, and Belle has a mirror and is essentially able to eavesdrop on the conversations happening on the JR where they’re debating what to do about it, then she could take matters into her own hands and go after Nealfire.
June 3, 2013 at 5:05 am #197060JosephineParticipantComes back out with MAGIC MIRROR. She yells to the crowd.
BELLE: My father’s not crazy and I can prove it! (To MIRROR) Show me the beast!
MAGIC MIRROR again shines, then produces the image of the still depressed BEAST. The crowd oohs and aahs at it.

I can see Belle using it to check up on Rumple and Neal without them knowing, or vice versa.
It will be hilarious if the mirror and Ariel never show up this season. We’re all working out all this headcannon and nothing will probably happen like our theorizing.

*sigh* Yeah. We’re almost never right about these things. But, the theory is clever.
