The crackpot speculation is half the fun of this show for me. 😀 Gotta do something to pass the time until the new season’s spoilers start leaking out.

Question: Why can’t Rumble and Regina turn into a fish, Regina has been a mouse, villager, and a fisherman so why can’t or will she or Rumble have to do this in NL to help find Henry so why would they need a mermaid to get the ink then:?:

Do you think it will be about 3 episodes in NL, then either home or other

Because that would be far too simple. Also all those times that Regina was something else, it was to advance the plot quickly. She was a mouse to get into Rumple’s cell to learn how to enact the curse, she was a villager to try and kill Snow, and she was a fisherman to spy on Snowing. It was a way for her to learn crucial information without taking too much time.

In NL, while they could go that route, it seems very unlikely because they need to make the story last. We will be in NL for at least the first half of the season, 11 episodes, if not the whole season. We have to be in NL for longer than 3 episodes because we have a lot of story to deal with there: PP, THO, the Lost Ones, Wendy and Bae, ect.

Well, Rumple doesn’t need a mermaid to fetch squid ink for him; he told Henry he could reach it as the Dark One. Perhaps there is some other unexplored reason keeping Regina from diving that that deep. Plus, I like the idea of Regina making a deal with a certain mermaid to fetch squid ink on her behalf.

I think NL is going to feature strongly in at least the first 10 episodes of S3.

I thought Rumble said that only a mermaid could get the ink or something like that he didn’t actually get it himself.

Only a mermaid or himself as the Dark One. It’s implied that he got it himself, but I get the feeling that he negotiated with the mermaid, that’s my theory at least.

Agreed, though I’m leaning towards it lasting until mid-season at most. A whole season on Neverland might make the story feel too dragged.

Nope, Rumple said only a mermaid or himself could reach the magic squid ink in 2×8 “Into the Deep”

Rumple: Yes, indeed a quill. And yet, it wasn’t the quill itself, but the ink that captured the Dark One – harvested from the rarest species of squid, from the bottom of a bottomless ocean. Impossible to find, unless, you’re a mermaid… Or me. I happen to have a private supply. In my jail cell… That is where they will find it.

I doubt Rumple would make a deal with a mermaid if he could fetch the squid ink himself. Plus, I want to see a flashback of Rumple without his shirt and wet hair. 😉 If anyone has a mermaid fetch her the ink, I’m betting it was Regina, who said in 1×12 “Skin Deep” that she wanted to make a deal with a certain mermaid.

Yes, I think it can go three ways.

Way 1) Belle and Bae arrive in NL by episode 6, PP is dealt with by episode 11/12 and then we move on to another land

Way 2) Belle and Bae arrive in NL in episode 11/12, then PP is dealt with by episode 16 or 17 (Like Cora) and then we move on.

Way 3) Belle and Bae arrive in NL in episode 11/12, PP is dealt with in episode 21/22 before we move on.

The third one is asking a bit much I think. I’m more in favor of way 2.
