Yeah someone threw out that idea of PP & Ariel, so (I think on a PP thread) that made me wonder if they could do a story of PP’s curse that he wants to grow up and can’t, because he fell in love (or was in love and turned too young). I agree though–do not want Ariel in love with a malevolent PP! Only if it is she is trying to free him from the curse.
Ah, but what would we name such a ship, that’s the real question!
I vote FlyingFish.
FlyingFish 😆

But I hope not. I want Peter and Wendy to end up together for once. 🙂
Did I see mermaids in that OUAT in Wonderland trailer? AMAZING! Any chance we’ll see THE most important mermaid Ariel next season?? — Holli
It’s up in the air according to EPs Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. “Obviously Neverland brings up mermaids and it brings up fairies,” says Kitsis. “We have ideas for Ariel. When we introduce her is up in the air because we’re still figuring out what we want to do. There’s a possibility we’ll see her.” Horowitz adds that she’s “one of our favorite characters” and “if and when we do it, we just want to make sure we do it right.” One thing you can count on? Her story will very much follow the Once model — surprises on top of surprises. “The thing that we love to do and that we will continue to do is, we do love to be able to say, here’s the backstory of an iconic character, but it’s not what you think,” Kitsis says. “So for Beauty and the Beast, we realized the beast was Rumpelstiltskin. And we realized Bae was with the Darlings, and that Red Riding Hood was the wolf. We still want to be able to show you our versions of things, and of course Ariel is at the top of the list.”

Hmmm… I thought Ariel was pretty much a sure thing.

The only sure thing for next season is that we’ll see Peter Pan, and he’s the Big Bad… at least for the first half. Anything else is still too early to say, because they’re likely still plotting the season. Also, notice this was an Once Wonderland question; Ariel could be someone that’ll be introduced in the spin-off and not the main show, for all we know. 🙂
I think H and K will be very tight lipped about any new characters outside of PP.
Also, I wouldn’t expect to see Ariel until after MAP are dealt with. Too many toys outside the box.
I think one of the reasons I don’t want Ariel in Neverland is so her story isn’t engulfed in the whole Peter Pan plot and she can stand out more on her own. Like RG said, it could potentially be too many toys out of the toybox if they were to do that. From what H&K said, it seems like they are debating that very thing: do we use the Mermaids in Neverland to introduce Ariel or do we introduce her in the Enchanted Forest?
I too would like Arel to be in FL instead of NL 😎
