I imagine there is fan fiction on how, to break the curse, there had to be a moment of true love between a parent and a child; a symbol of Rumple’s grief.
Not neccesary between a parent and a child, just between people who know about the curse. If not, any true love kiss within the borders of Storybrooke would break it.

If Emma and Neal came to Storybrooke after ten years, I was working under the assumption they would have raised Henry and he would have also come with his parents. Pretty confident (after what we saw tonight) kissing either Neal or Henry would have worked to break the curse.
It had to be Emma’s ‘true love kiss’ because of the drop of potion Rumple put on the parchment. No one else would have worked because she was the only product of that specific true love.

But the adoption took place, and it means that it was part of the initial plot to break the curse. It is twisted enough as to come from Rumplestiltskin’s mind.
I agree, no one but Emma could break the curse. But… in any situation? under a particular circunstance? Maybe. And it is also possible that even being enough an Emma’s kiss to her husband -Neal- or her son -Henry- in a hypothetical “happy ending of Neal/Emma relationship”, the drama of adoption, 10 years of solitude, blablabla, was neccesary to fulfil other gaps in the plot: for instance, kill the dragon and recover the true love potion that brings the magic back.

If Emma truly loved Neil, why wouldn’t it have worked as a kiss between the two? Why did it have to be Emma and Henry?
I agree. I’m very confused by this. The way I interpreted it…Emma needed to use TLK in Storybrooke to break the curse, and the reason it was so difficult is because she couldn’t love at first. And she couldn’t believe in magic.
But Neal sure as hell believed in magic (after he saw whatever was in that box. Grrr.). So he could have helped her believe. With the help of August, both of them would have known about the curse, and both of them could have used TLK. It would have been so much easier!
Otherwise, if we think about August’s plan to separate Emma from Neal, thus leaving her alone and bitter…how could that possibly guarantee that she would go to Storybrooke on her 28th birthday? Especially since August didn’t know that Emma was pregnant with Henry when he separated them. Did he plan to knock on her door in Boston and say, “Hi, I was the boy who found you as a baby. You need to break a magical curse.”
But maybe Emma had to find true love in Storybrooke. Maybe “the first-born child of Emma Swan” was written into the curse and had to be brought to Storybrooke in order for the curse to be broken.
Eager to hear more interpretations, because at the moment I’m lost. 😕

So the return of Pinocchio DID NOT GO how I expected it to. Anyone agree?
I can’t believe he took all that money and just left her the car and the key chain. 😡
Yes, I was expecting to see the start of a bromance like Rumple and Charming have, but if Neal doesn’t punch August out as soon as he finds him in Storybrooke, I will be very disappointed. Before this episode, while I didn’t really like August all that much because I still thought he was selfish when he grew older, I never blamed him for running away when he was 7. I also didn’t blame him for trying to trick Rumple because he was so desperate. Tonight though, I just want him to chop him up into little pieces or throw a fireball at him Regina style. You’re dead to me now August. Dead to me.

Oh, ALL FOR IT! Especially if he did have something to do with Henry’s adoption/knew Emma was pregnant (seems unlikely to me but I could see them doing that now!)
Wanted a bromance but I think Bae will at least get a punch in. August should be lucky if Bae get’s there before Emma. Bae at least seems level headed enough to stop at some point – Emma is going to destroy him when she finds out! 😈

What about when the rest of the town finds out? I could so see Ruby turning his wooden butt into a chew-toy!!!!!!!
