In An Apple Red as Blood, August showed Henry his left arm was made of wood, but he was able to move the fingers on his left hand (which was covered with a glove), and he is able to walk (with wooden legs). Does this mean that his left hand is still human, or that he is capable of moving wooden body parts? I understand for cost reasons it was easier to keep his glove on, as opposed to creating a wooden hand, but if he can move his body parts (legs, fingers) even though they’ve become wood, what makes August think he wouldn’t be able to function once completely wood (magical enchanted wood)? So does he really need magic, or does he only need to be brave, truthful, and unselfish.
Also, August needs to realize that by wanting to only spend time with his father he is still being selfish. He still needs to be brave and get back to helping Emma, at all costs.

I’m thinking he’s gradually turning into regular old wood, not enchanted wood, (because we don’t have enchanted wood in our world). He didn’t move his fingers much, in fact it kinda looked like he was trying to move them just so he could see if he still can. He moved awkwardly when he got down on his knee and said that it’s hard to walk, and ride the bike, and soon it’ll be hard to breathe too. Once his torso turns to wood and he no longer has functioning lungs, that’ll make the whole living thing hard to do. Will spoiler tag this just in case people are avoiding the promo for the finale, he's bed ridden in the clip we see of him, so I think that once parts of him have turned completely wooden, he's kinda screwed.

He just wants to spend what little time he has left with his father. Considering his situation, I can’t fault him for that and can’t blame him for having given up hope.

It is his fault Emma does not believe and he knows it. He knew it was too late when he was in Phuket, Thailand and Emma showed up in SB. Can you blame someone who has not seen their father in many years to just want to reconnect. How much more convincing can he do for Emma. Right now it is up to her in that department.

People think he might know something about Oz, because of the license plate on his bike, and that he might know something about Neverland too? What’s the back story on all of this? I highly doubt he was off in Tailand fooling around. It’s too easy of a storyline for these writers. It’s definitely going to be more complicated than him just having fun.

She never turned him in to a REAL boy, just enough turning to make him ‘her’ puppet. And therefor everything he does is at Blue Fairys bidding, whether it be good or bad.
In the Oz story he could very well be the scarecrow who is missing his mind then 😀
And Rumple is the lion missing his bravery
And plenty of characters are missing their hearts…who shall we choose…. -
