I think the dark magic that Rumple gained has blackened his soul. He was a good man to begin with but when he gained evil power, it was only his love for Bae that kept that spark of humanity in him.

Well i said he doesn’t seem to do good not that he doesn’t do anything that seems good. I don’t care if he wants to protect his son. You can’t just kill people. You can’t turn a guy into a snail and kill him because your son fell over and scrapped his knee. You can’t kill your maid because she might have heard the tail end of a conversation about a knife. You can’t create a curse that dooms everyone in your world to an unhappy existence just so you can find your son and be called good. Rumpel is not a good character, in my opinion.

Rumpel wanted power when he was just a man. He was a coward when he was just a man. And he was a murderer when he was just a man. And he is still that same man now that he is the dark one and it is not good.

We will see how the story line plays out. I am excited by the wondering about where it will go. I want Rumple to be redeemed in the end and for Regina to be defeated. 😀

LOL. We will see. I actually want the opposite. I want Regina to be redeemed and Rumpel to go down hard. Though it may be that both will be redeemed in the end.

…It was so sad when Bae kept telling Rumple that he was getting worse…then the Blue Fairy confirmed that the curse had corupted him and how Bae was the only hope in him…I feel better knowing that Rumples entire focus was on getting his son back…not sure how Bae would feel about the deals Rumple made but he always let people know ahead of time there was a price and left it to them on whether or not they were willing to pay it.

I know I feel the same way…I think they have both had to learn some hard lessons…Rumple seems to have learned his…Love that he is talking to Archie/Gimminie Cricket…Regina still needs a good spanking…

Rumpel only seems to be sorry about what he did to Bae and not about what he has done to everybody else, everybody, so i don’t think he has reached the redeemed place for me.

I agree with all of this. I also liked when Mr. Gold apologized and confessed his sins to August. It was so honest and heartfelt. In that moment, it showed that Mr. Gold truly wanted to change. Him giving August the dagger was a grand gesture of sacrifice and forgiveness. He chose power once, but now he’s choosing his son instead.

I agree. The evil power of the Dark One took hold of his soul very fast. It blackened him. But like the Blue Fairy said, Baelfire is that small glimmer of hope for Rumpel. He’s the only good thing left in him. I’d also add Belle to that list. 😉

And I agree, Crimson Angel, I also want to see Rumpel defeat Regina. 😀

But Rumpel isn’t fighting against Regina. Right? Emma is fighting against Regina.

Hmm…it depends. He seems to strongly dislike Regina. Everytime he makes a deal with her, he ends up screwing her somehow. 😆 He probably sees her as a puppet. He keeps using her for his own purposes, and yet, she keeps coming back for more. He got her to cast the curse. He actually convinced her that he would help her with the whole Kathryn plan.

He’s also still pretty upset with her for convincing Belle to try to break his curse with true love’s kiss. He tried to send her away, but here comes Regina… 😆 Gotta love her though. 😉
