Good point! Sorry, I wasn’t thinking about the spoiler tags. 🙂

I had thought maybe in a Catholic orphanage and that might explain a connection with our MS/BF, and perhaps he was adopted and that would explain as a “local boy” finding Emma on the side of the road.

She has magic and can bring it back. She believes then she can use it. She can use it she can help break the curse and save everyone. This makes for a good case of August = Peter Pan. Pinnochio was never obligated to believe in anything; he needed to be brave, selfless and not lie. He does a final act of selfess bravery to save Geppetto from the whale and for that he became a real boy. Is August that? or is he demonstrating Peter Pan qualities???

We once again have conflicting theories on Bae. Here is where my mind is going.
When the curse was enacted, we are lead to assume that ALL FTL characters were called to SB. If not so, why was Jefferson (A FTL Character stuck in Wonderland) sucked into SB and left prisoner for 28 years in his own house? We cannot confirm or deny that August has been traveling outside of SB after the curse was enacted. In 7:15am we see him drive into town, but never see from where he came. If he had been traveling after the curse, why is he driving around with an expired license tag? Could there be other realm jumpers (as Gold called them) trapped in various places throughout SB? Could those realm jumpers include Bae and August? We also know that Jefferson was free to roam AFTER Emma came to town. Perhaps the other realm jumpers are now free to roam as well. Back to the license tag. 2012 – 1984 equals 28. 28 years AFTER the curse was enacted Emma came to town and changed things up. The license tag was last renewed for 1984 which appears to be the same year the curse was enacted. It appears to me that August got sucked into SB and has been trapped since the curse was enacted and Emma came to town.
Based on the above, I believe that indeed Bae and August are realm jumpers (we know for sure they jumped to one realm, one without magic). They were sucked into SB once the curse was enacted and left prisoner somewhere (same as Jefferson). Once Emma came to town, they were set free again (same as Jefferson). Time once again moved forward after Emma came to town and now the inhabitants are no longer frozen in town. As a result, August is no longer frozen and is dying (probably turning back into a puppet). If August is indeed Pinocchio, the magic that created him died with FTL 28 years ago. Now that SB is unfrozen, the repercussions of the magic’s cessation is now beginning to materialize. Hence why August is dying. It will be interesting to see what else will change.
I am not completely sure yet who August and Bae are, but am still leaning toward Bae being Peter Pan.
April 23, 2012 at 5:32 pm #143402SnickerdoodleParticipantI would love it if Bae were PP, that would explain his not dying after centruries of time between his leaving FTL and enacting the curse, however, Mr. Gold eluded to the fact with August in the woods that they were where Bae had gone, and so he would know this is a land without magic, thus August wasn’t Bae and his charade was ended. So, if Bae came to a land without magic, he wouldn’t have gone to Neverland or Oz or anywhere else, unless someone came to find him. But it sounded like from the BF at the end of last night’s episode, that the only thing that could bring them there was a curse. She said there was no other way to get there. Of course, now that Emma’s there, Jefferson obviously has found a way out. 😀 We will see if he can get back.
April 23, 2012 at 10:27 pm #143470charmingParticipantAlright! Everyone is saying that August added another story or two to the book, changed the book, took something out of the book but no one but myself has said or agreed with me that maybe he restored those pages that were ripped out and burned. I believe that another part of magic in SB is the book and August needs magic to cure himself. So does anyone agree that he may have restored those ripped and burn pages of the book?????
April 25, 2012 at 9:58 pm #144072eternalflameParticipantAugust is so…perplexing. The writers have given us clues that point to him being so many different fairytale characters. Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz…there’s so many possibilities! But ultimately, I think he’ll turn out to be Pinocchio. Which will be ironic considering he’s such a good liar. He really had Mr. Gold going in the last episode. He even hugged him and cried with him. That’s lying on a GRAND scale.

I thought about that, and wondered if he didn’t replace them. So, yes, it is indeed possible. I keep waiting for Henry to say something. However, the writers confirmed he added to the book… for sure the Golden Bird, so that is what every knows for sure. But he could have added back the ripped out pages as well.
April 26, 2012 at 1:23 am #144113theoniongirlParticipantIs he a liar, though? I can’t go back through all his statements, but although we know he’s done some misleading, has he actually said an outlight lie? Or has he adroitly danced around it? 😉

Version 2 is he’s just got epilepsy lol.
