I guess depending on what name dictionary you use, you can get a different meaning of Wayne. I used this one, and it said “craftsman” not “wagon maker.” Even though I’m sure it would take a craftsman to make a wagon…

March 21, 2012 at 12:59 am #139339hjbauParticipantI don’t think so. I think that the hairs were just an ingredient for the Dark Curse. The bottle of love which is why Emma is the savior because her parents love was the last ingredient.
March 22, 2012 at 9:16 pm #139478atb913ParticipantThe only thing that is really throwing me off about August being Pinocchio was the article that said Emma was found by a 7 year old LOCAL boy. The only thing I can figure is that if he stepped through before Emma, perhaps he landed a couple weeks in the past behind her.

I just realized I have spent a good portion of the last month on my life doing copious amounts of research trying to figure out the “true” fictional identity of a fictional character on a television show. In the process I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about Lemurs, the land of Nepal, the Grimm Brothers and anyone and everyone who may or may not have assisted them in writing and/or compiling their fairy tales, every possible variation of the stories of Pinocchio, Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, and the Wizard of Oz. I’ve done math problems to determine whether he could be a 7 year old boy who found Emma on the side of the road, I’ve theorized on the meaning of the license plate on his motorcycle, the reason he only drinks water, I’ve tried to determine whether he could have had red hair as a child . . .the list goes on and on And still . . . nothing. I’m going crazy here.

😆 All I can say is that you are a very through, dedicated and excellent researcher 😀 and you’re awesome for dedicating so much time to figuring out who August is. 😀
I think August is the 7 year old local boy who found Emma, emphasis on “local.” I don’t think he’s from fairytale land either. I actually wrote a tumblr blog post about it.

I had to smile at this–I, too, and spending inordinate amounts of time thinking about Once Upon a Time, and these compelling wonderful characters. I love the layers and the mystery!
There is a photo of Pinocchio (as a real boy) working with his father, Gepetto, in their workshop. Remember Gepetto made the enchanted wardrobe that spirited Emma away, and protected her from EQ’s Dark Curse. I believe Pinocchio fell asleep (or Gepetto hid him inside–a father’s love, you know!) in the wardrobe and went along with Emma to safety. The Blue Faery said there was only room for 1 person in the wardrobe, but there would have been enough room for 2 kids. So Emma had some company on that journey!
Either way, we’ll find out for sure in a few weeks! Patience, Grasshopper!
