It is a good message but the writers keep forgetting that Snowing have another baby. So yeah, mixed signals for sure.
Well that’s what it is. It’s annoying that the writers forget that Snow has another child to worry about. But the message is strong and has nothing to do with Hook or Emma. So people need to stop with that. It’s the writers making Snow looks bad bc she has a son.

But sometimes retcons aren’t bad. It didn’t affect season 1 for me at all. So they woke up briefly. Big whoop. It gave us meaty dialogue and great character moments in the episode. How they woke up is another story. That was dumb. The flower was just dumb in general. But I have zero problem with them waking up during the dark curse and us not knowing about it until now. And Snowing’s true love is like the epitome of true love. They have said it’s basically the strongest. So the fact that their true love was able to wake just them up, isn’t a problem for me. They still needed the Savior to break the curse and wake everyone else up.

the purpose of the curse is supposed to be that they cant wake up or be free from it without Emma….
They still needed the Savior to break the curse
Not if you have flowers, apparently.

They didn’t even explore what the characters felt about this present day and they treat it as if it’s no big deal, Emma didn’t have any reaction to the fact that her parents could have been with her when she was 10! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HUGE DEAL (this revelation would have been too late as well, but that’s what happens when you write something without planning ahead). Emma doesn’t react to anything when it is not about Hook. Another instance is in the previous episode Henry went through some weird Author magic and the writers didn’t think it was important enough to let Emma know about this.
Anyway, the only purpose of the flashbacks is to introduce this flower which could have been done without ruining season 1 mythos.

I can buy this way more than what other people are saying. If this was planned out better and fleshed out more over a period of episodes, it wouldn’t feel rushed (Tiger Lily), or pointless (flashbacks). So yeah, I can get that.

Yes this is a big part. Like if they want to bring up another MacGuffin then okay, I’ll criticize that cause omg really another one? But it’s more of a roll my eyes sort of criticism instead of a giant (really, this is giant) reton that doesn’t just tear down S1 but it also ruins a lot of the shows mythology.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 18, 2017 at 9:00 pm #336444hjbauParticipantIt is an actual error too. I mean Snow was going to go through the wardrobe and raise Emma. That was the plan. That was the last thing that Charming remembered. He has no ten years of cursed memories in the way of it. This was the plan that they were discussing just yesterday for him. Snow was going to raise Emma and there she is, so go raise her. Emma would still be the savior and save everyone.
I could see Rumpel wanting there to be magic in town, so he wants the curse broken, but there is still no reason for him to take that potion. He could still search for Bae. Though, Bae may not have even been in the Land Without Magic yet. He might have still been in Neverland. If Bae and Emma are around the same age then he could have arrived in the Land Without Magic when Emma was like 14, so they would be similar ages.
