Looks like Belle is in fact pregnant! Congrats to all who called it.
But, is this a good idea, from a story perspective? And when will Hades cash in that deal? What will happen to Baby Rumbelle?

In other words, he’ll use his magic for the good of his second child.

March 20, 2016 at 11:09 pm #319658RumplesGirlKeymasterThis is not a happy storyline for me, I won’t lie. Yes, it re-centers Rumple’s story back on the idea of him being a father who would do anything for his child, but this is soooooo squicky. This baby was conceived through wonky-consent (Belle, not knowing that Rumple was the Dark One again and is still lying to her) and now it looks like Belle’s first born child is being threatened by Hades, which is rather unfair to both mother and child. To say nothing of the fact that it reeks of Nealfire not being enough to make his father go good, but this new baby, is.

To play Devil’s advocate, Rumple dying for Neal and Belle at the end of 3A and then him reabsorbing him to try to save his life when he was resurrected is, from my perspective, the closest to “good” we’ve seen him on the show post DO-curse yet. So I don’t think him potentially going good again because of Rumbelle baby is screwing the legacy over in that respect.
I’m guessing there’s going to be some twist with him having a “good” reason to take the curse back on. Eddy and Adam seem to be playing it that way, though they could just be happy about it because he can’t really narratively function in the story without his powers.

Unless Belle is Rumpel’s second child.
I mean, as long as the show is doing Greek lore, there’s precedent.

No, no a thousand times no. This family tree may be approaching a level of twisted to rival that of Olympus, but we do not need to add incest to the ever winding branches.
And WickedRegal, I thought that Cora had not started to learn magic until well after Zelena was born so she could not have directly inherited any powers from her mother at that time.
With regards to the contract was it for Rumple’s second born or for Rumple and Milah’s second born or for either parent’s second born, that could lead to some interesting loophole options to the contract. Maybe there is a long lost baby Jones that may have actually payed this debt and Hades is totally bluffing on his end.

I disagree about the wonky consent part. Belle was in her right mind and consented to sleep with Rumple who is actually Rumple and not someone pretending to be him.
If it was James pretending to be David and Snow agreed to sleep with him because she thought it was her husband, that’s wonky consent right there.
If Lacey had consented to sleep with Keith even though he knew who he was, that would be wonky consent because Belle is not in her right mind.
Should Rumple tell Belle he’s the dark one? Yes, but the fact he didn’t tell her doesn’t make the consent wonky because Belle knew who she was sleeping with and consented.

That is a good point and I could totally see Hades bluffing to get Rumple onside in order to remove him as a potential obstacle.

Well yes she consented and it is Rumple not some other guy, but she doesn’t have all the facts. She is believing something about Rumple and he’s deliberately keeping vital information about himself that would likely change Belle’s perception of him, from her. She doesn’t know, in the emotional sense, who she is sleeping with.

THIS! Urgh, I hate that they had them make a baby under these circumstances.
