The heroes finally figured out that Zelena wants baby Snowflake for her Curse to go back in time and kill Eva.

But why? Why does Zelena want the baby? Is it for the spell itself or just to have baby? What is so speical about the Snowflake?

well personally  i thought the spell just required:

a newborn babe, born of true love. or something suitably medieval.

Belle only listed brains, courage, and a resilient heart as being ingredients for time travel spells, she didn’t mention baby parts.

Maybe it has something to do with this baby being the most recent addition to the family line she wants to erase?

If Zelena takes the baby but manages to kill Eva, then Zelena is reborn and has a new life. So what’s the point of taking a baby along? She could send the baby Snowflake to Oz but what purpose does that serve?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Snowing baby is related to Eva. It can be sort of blood magic to hurt Eva in the past.

that’s a good idea. We’ve seen blood magic a lot this season; but why not use Snow or Emma?

this blood magic theory is the most plausible i have heard.

Maybe the reason it has to be this baby is that it will be born during the dark curse? That could make it special somehow, like a “cursed baby”. It would explain why Zelena wants Emma to lose her magic: Emma, as the saviour, is the only one who can break the curse. And if it’s broken, the baby won’t be cursed anymore and the time travel spell won’t work. It also explains why Zelena cast the curse in the first place.
