Thanks!
I found the pictures online and used the “img” button at the top of the Reply box to post the URLs. If you have images on your own computer, you’ll need to upload them to a picture-hosting website in order to post them that way here.

One parallel is the broken clock tower in the first BTTF movie and the clock being stuck at 8:15 for 28 years in SB. In BTTF the clock hasn’t worked in over 30 years. Marty traveled back to the past and had to power his time machine by harnessing the lightning bolt that struck the clock tower. In OUAT, the curse had frozen time so that the clock didn’t move an inch for all those year.
Another reference is Marty traveling back in time 30 years, messing up the events whereby his parents met, thereby jeopardizing his own existence until destiny course corrected and they got back together. In 3×21 Emma travels through the time portal 30 years to the events of 1×3 when her parents first met. Something goes awry since James and Abigail are set to marry and seem to be going through with it. Emma must correct the mistake of her parents not falling in love to ensure her own survival.

Adam and Eddy have confirmed in an interview that “Back to the Future” is one of their favorite screenplays ever. I think that this is confirmation that the plot for 3×21 was directly inspired by that film series.
Access: Emma and Hook go back in time in the Enchanted Forest this week, and I know you guys are ‘80s fans, so you’ve probably watched every ‘Back to the Future’ movie. We know Marty McFly had trouble when he disrupted the space-time continuum.
Eddy: Did he!Access: So tell me, what kind of troubles are Emma and Hook are going to run into?
Adam: Well first, on that front, if we haven’t already said it, Episode 19’s title, ‘A Curious Thing,’ was our homage to the Huey Lewis ‘Power of Love’ song.
Eddy: From ‘Back to the Future.’ … For me and Adam, one of our favorite scripts ever and the one we wished we wrote was ‘Back to the Future.’
Adam: Yeah, it’s an amazing screenplay.
Eddy: I would say that this week, as you just said, time travel is tricky business and the littlest thing can have the biggest consequences, so we hope our heroes…. don’t touch anything.
Adam: And don’t do any sports betting.
