In the episode The Stranger, I always though it odd that AWB knew to call Gold Papa when he himself called Gepetto Father. Who told him that’s what Bae called Rumple? The Blue Fairy? Possibly, however, I believe that somewhere, either in the orphanage or out in the real world, Bae & AWB met and that’s how AWB knows so much about Rumple. Even if AWB is now turned to wood, he certainly could have relayed info about Bae to the Blue Fairy, or Jefferson (yeah, I believe there’s a connection with Jefferson/Bae/AWB) or even Henry during Operation Cobra. AWB made provisions to make sure that someone knew about Bae’s existence & whereabouts should he not be able to notify him himself.
Bingo, there’s the key! The new york stranger had to be the one that August contacted, even if he’s not Bae. that would answer how August knew everything about Rumple. I also think that August has to be fine (HE JUST HAS TO BE!) and that he sent out the carrier pigion to this new york stranger. I’m led to believe that this guy is Bae due to the fact that (If i were a writer) I would bring him back at some point.

I absolutely love the idea of the mysterious guy at the beginning being Bae. Then again, is that too obvious? As to who possibly sent him the “Broken” postcard…oh…my mind went crazy. I think some logical options here would be Regina, Jefferson, the Blue Fairy, and even possibly August prior to him turning into wood. Or some new person!
I wonder how often will see this character. Will it be an every episode thing? Or will we not see him again until whatever his first full episode is? I’m going to bet on the later option.

I was surprised by this scene too. At first, I thought I was watching the wrong show. But when I saw Jennifer Morisson’s name, I knew I was on the right station.
I’m also a believer of the new guy being Baelfire. Or at least I hope he is (I’m kind of crushing on him).

LOL! I did the exact same thing. I actually downloaded the episode to watch this morning, and when I saw the opening scene I was like, “drats, I downloaded the wrong thing!” But then finally some names started popping up 😆

LOL! Cherish! Hello & welcome 🙂
I thought the same thing until I saw Michael Raymond James’ face. I really enjoyed the song selection though. Charley’s Girl by Lou Reed just seemed so fitting!
Crushing on him a little bit myself 😉

😆 I know, it was a pleasant surprise. I loved how the show did that. It was such a change of scenery.
In regards to him being Baelfire, I never would have expected him to be New York. I always expected him to be in Pheonix (Baelfire = Fire = Pheonix rising from the ashes). I know, it’s a stretch, but it sounded plausible at the time.
October 1, 2012 at 5:16 pm #154911dorothyParticipantDon’t get me wrong-I WANT this new guy to be Baelfire. I REALLY want him to be, but I have a feeling the writers are gonna toy with us again like they did with August. We know if he’s getting a card from SB then he must definitely be connected to someone there.

I feel your pain. I hope the writers don’t wait all season. The first half of the season, fine. But all season? Please no.

But maybe Jefferson had relayed the message! On the wall there may be a clue it said something about a hatter which was what gave me the idea. They both were fully aware of the curse and we don’t know the whereabouts of either… Just a thought

I agree soulsurf. I mentioned above that I believe there is a connection between AWB/Jefferson/Bae.and that Jefferson may have sent the card. When Bae followed that bean, it could have led him to many lands. Jefferson spent years taking other people to other lands. Makes perfect sense that there paths would cross.
In Hat Trick, there were stills of AWB outside of Jefferson’s house. The never did air any of that. Perhaps they changed their minds because they thought it was too early to show an AWB/Jefferson connection. Now, in the apartment, they show a sign that says “Cleaner & Hatters”. Seems very likely.
