I stand by what I say, dude… Yes you toned it down in your post, but your openingsline still stands. Personally, I don’t think you should have even mentioned it in the first place. And I think we need to protect these child actors, they are still kids. The grown-ups can fend for themselves, but when it comes to the kids, let them be, don’t critize them. How would you feel if a stranger out of no where started judging your behaviour? We are talking about impressionable young children, and they should be stimulated, so they feel sure of themselves… Not become insecure and full of self-doubt, because someone on the internet is of the opinion they gave a lousy performance. I don’t want Bailee Madison to be wondering “Am I overdoing this”, next time she is on set, I wanna see her act her heart out, because she does it so wonderfully.
We should leave it up to the director to guide them in that, and after that, that’s it, it’s done.Appreciate the performance given, don’t pick the actors apart. And think twice before you critize them, they are people too, and they have feelings. Else we are nothing more than bullies.

I am judged daily on my behavior and the quality of my work, when I am in the office. I don’t know you, but I assume you are not a professional — else you wouldn’t have written something so ridiculous.
You are WAY over-exaggerating the harshness of my post. You make it sound as if I’m an influential TV critic who can make-or-break a performer’s career, when clearly I’m not. And child actors are not so fragile and as you portray. This child actor in particular already has a long list of credits to her name, and she’s barely a teenager.
You’re being an internet troll, because you can. You cherry-picked one sentence I wrote — conveniently ignoring all the praise I gave her — and grossly over exaggerate it. You disagree with my post. Fine. Most folks on this forum disagree with what I write, but they’re not trolls about it. No need to be unreasonable and pretend you’re some champion defender of child actors everywhere.

Show some respect for each other and for the forums, please. You are getting personal offensive, and I am convinced both of you are mature enough to stop this before it gets even uglier.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

Agreed. SpinningGold, I apologize. Thank you myril.
March 6, 2013 at 9:50 pm #177681spinninggoldParticipantThank you, all I was worried about is Bailee looking online what we say, coming across a post like this, and getting insecure. Just think about what your actions might achieve. and that goes for all of us. I wasn’t try to attack you, but to warn you. So I am sorry too if you feel attacked
March 6, 2013 at 11:50 pm #177721MyrilParticipantThanks, malchore and SpinningGold. 🙂
Love that we are passionate people here in the forums with multiple views and opinions, so things can get a little heated at times. As long as it takes only a little nudge and not some Rumplestiltskin like powerful magic to keep us civilized I think we are all good.
And now: group hug, or so? 🙂
And then back to topic.Think it’s okay to talk even about child actors if one thinks they can do better, as long as it is meant supportive and not chopping their heads off. I hadn’t the impression that anyone here was doing the latter so far, just that we have different opinions, if Bailee Madison’s acting was just good or brilliant in this episode, and that directing eventually could have done more to help her to make it better.
Yes, kids are easy to impress, but as well in my experience they are eager that we are honest with them. It helps to grow to know that people perceive performance differently . Any actor, child and adult, wants to know how well they did or if there is something to improve. As long as we keep in mind they are humans beings and discuss their acting not them as person it should be okay in my opinion.¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

Snow is pretty emotional, which is funny as it parallels her daughter Emma who can at times be an emotional brick wall. Bailee did it amazingly and for such a young girl just…wow I do hope we see a lot more amazing stuff out of her in the future.
