Looks like this WILL be the Jack and the Beanstalk episode. And possibly a closer retelling than some of us have been guessing.

September 16, 2012 at 9:41 pm #153984hjbauParticipantMaybe Emma and Snow come back to Storybrooke via beanstalk.
September 17, 2012 at 4:29 am #153988PheeParticipantThat’s quite an impressive beanstalk. Has there been talk anywhere of Dylan Schmid being on set? His Twitter says nothing about it. If he’s not there, then Bae isn’t gonna be our Jack from this story, and we’ll see someone else playing with magic beans instead.

I like the theory of Emma and Snow White possibly meeting up with Jack and getting a ride to SB via a magic bean.

I haven’t heard anything one way or the other. Maybe all of Dylan’s scenes are under-wraps because he’ll be filming in front of a green-screen and the producers don’t want him tweeting about the show (surprise-factor). Another possibility is that we could see Baelfire as an adult, played my the mystery-man, MRJ. Perhaps Jack is grown-up Bae’s new alias. Perhaps we’ll see flash-backs with Dylan in them as a teenaged Baelfire on the run from a giant. Then we flash-forward to Emma and MM being in a distant land and hearing about MRJ’s character (who as it turns out could be adult Baeflire), and they ask him for help getting home.

Maybe The Blue Fairy was wrong/lying about there being more magic beans and they come into possession of one.

That could be, but maybe they won’t use Dylan Schmid yet. If Jorge Garcia is really playing a Giant, perhaps Bae’s past isn’t revealed until later, but we might learn why there was only one magic bean left for the Blue Fairy to give to Bae. So we get the backstory on the magic beans, but not necessarily on Bae.
This would mean that Bae is just Bae; although, I still think he or someone else changed his name in our world because Baelfire would be such a weird name to go by.
So there could still be an actual Jack from the Beanstalk story, but it wouldn’t be Bae like I had thought. However, to make my theory even more confusing, I think Michael Raymond-James is Jack from the casting call who is really Henry’s dad/Baelfire. Again, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s the real Jack as in the real Jack from the Beanstalk story just going by that particular much more common name in our world.
For one thing, I don’t think there was ever any confirmation that the casting call was for the Jack from the Jack and the Beanstalk story. I think most people, like myself, just guessed that it must be the same Jack. Further, I think whoever Michael Raymond-James is playing must be a really big character for them to keep it under wraps like they’re doing. If he were just Jack and only Jack, I don’t think they would welcome him to the show the first day he was hired, but then pretend like he doesn’t even exist immediately after that. So I still think he has to be someone really important like Bae/Henry’s dad.

That would kind of be an amazing twist. Didn’t the actor playing Lancelot think he was auditioning for another character until he got the role? It doesn’t seem to work when I think about the beanstalk and the ‘Giant’ but those could easily equal other things. ‘THE GIANT’ could be another role, the beanstalk easily how Snow and Emma are returning. I’ll be disappointed not to see Dylan Schmid climbing that thing…but will recover!
