That would be terrible. But I don’t think Rumpel would do that to Baelfire. I think the reason why Rumpel was able to pinpoint the time and place where Bae landed in this world has something to do with the curse. I think the curse pinpointed where Baelfire landed. And besides, if Rumpel had taken Bae’s heart, then he would have cast the curse himself. The curse required the heart of the person you loved the most. Rumpel couldn’t provide that so he got Regina to do it instead. So, he couldn’t possibly have Baelfire’s heart.

First and foremost, Rumple would never have taken Bae’s heart and many have made reasonable arguments as to why he wouldn’t have.
Let’s say for the sake of argument that he did. There is no way he would have ever used his boy’s heart to cast the curse. The whole point of the curse was to find Bae. In using Bae’s heart, he would have killed him thus no need for the curse. So it just doesn’t make sense.

BINGO. But Rumpel has mentioned that you can take someone’s heart without killing them. You can simply control them. But like others have said, there’s no way Rumpel would have ever done that Bae.

Exactly. Why would he need Regina to cast the curse if he already had the means to do it himself? I don’t think Rumpel has ever tampered with Bae’s heart.

The whole reason for the curse was to find Bae.
Rumple holding Bae’s heart to control him would’ve prevented him from leaving and cancel out the reason for enacting the Dark Curse.

Also a very good point.

Yes, you can take someone’s heart without killing them but you have to preserve the heart to keep them alive. When you crush it, as Reggie did with Graham’s, you kill the individual. In order to enact the dark curse, the heart had to be sacrificed and thrown into the fire thus killing the individual. No other way around the curse.

Good to ‘see’ 🙂December 14, 2012 at 4:06 am #164991magickingdomParticipantI don’t really see Rumpel intentionally hurting Bae. Emotionally and mentally ? Yes. But he would never intentionally cause him any physical harm. And like others have said, if Rumpel had Bae’s heart, he would have cast the curse himself.
