I want to know if Regina is responsible for removing all those hearts. Were some of them taken by Cora? I hope Henry says something to Charming about them.
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 15, 2012 at 9:45 pm #156806magooParticipantWhy Regina didnt come to the vault herself? She knew Henry wouldnt go with her? Seems like a weak reason. Hmm I think there is more to why she didnt go herself. I hope she is turning good, but I understand why she wouldnt want to give up her power.

As for the hearts? Well, whose to say their owners are even in Storybrooke? Or even that they belong to decent people, and not say, King George?
I agree. While I do want to see her struggle with trying to become a little less evil, I don’t want to see her give up her power (yet). Given the ominous final scene of “The Lady of the Lake”, she may need that power soon. It sure looked like King George was still planning how to get revenge on Charming and watching Charming play with Henry suggests he will probably want to deprive Charming of Henry. Just imagine Regina’s reaction if George tries to hurt Henry. I’m betting we would see Regina more angry than we have ever seen her, and that’s saying a lot. George would be toast! And, Regina would probably have to work with Charming 9and possibly Snow and Emma if they are back) to rescue Henry. The conflicts between Regina and the Charmings while they try to work together could be fascinating.

From what we’ve seen of that crypt to date, I don’t think one can hear the sound of heart beats when they go down into the crypt. By the expression on Henry’s face when he stares at the wall of vaults, and by the fact that he has read the book, I believe the sound was an indication to us (the audience) that Henry understands what is in those vaults.
That’s what I think as well, it was just a sound effect.
If there were still a whole lot of magical hearts in that vault, Regina would have used them when she needed the power to go back for the apple, instead of scrounging around for a few trinkets that may or may not work. I think Graeme’s heart was the only one still in there.

I’m guessing she’s going to need some, if not all, of that stuff if Cora ever finds her way to Storybrooke….I wouldn’t be surprised if she had to use her magic to actually defend Storybrooke from Cora…
October 16, 2012 at 3:23 pm #156935mikeParticipantWhy is it that, aside from the Blue Fairy, all users of magic become dark and evil. It would be nice to show magic used for good, protection, to help others. Maybe when Regina is eventually faced with Cora she will use her magic for good, helping Henry and the citizens of StoryBrook. Maybe this will feel even better to her, than using it for dark purposes. Maybe this will help her towards full redemption. That, and her giving back what should has taken from everyone so far (ie., hearts, happy endings, family).
October 16, 2012 at 7:18 pm #156956crest1994ParticipantI think it was probably Cora’s crypt to start with. So the hearts in their are probably mostly Cora’s victims so Regina probably doesn’t know who they belong too.
Also, when I heard Regina say she wanted to redeem herself, my thought was that her priority would be helping bring Emma and Snow back, I didn’t think about going to her crypt and smashing all her stuff. Also things like the snakes etc can be used against evil people just as much as good people. When Cora comes to town there going to need as much stuff Regina has in her arsenal that they can get. Definitely think one of our heroes, Emma or Henry is going to get hold of that book and do some magic. They’ll be thanking Regina before long.
October 16, 2012 at 11:21 pm #156968timespacerParticipantMany of these comments seem to be based on the assumption that the hearts in the vault can be “put back” into their original owners. We don’t know if that is true.

I think Henry knew what they were, but also knew they wouldn’t help him. Perhaps they all started beating like that when magic returned to Storybrooke.

I think you are right Daniel, and I’m also wondering if they started beating that loud BECAUSE of Henry?
we don’t know yet if Henry will have a bit of magic in him? I know he is not going to be a ‘character’ as such but look who his parents AND grandparents are. We can assume Emma has something going on (magic parents and all) and i’v seen in other pieces written about Henry’s dad that he is going to be more than Emma expected him to be (i.e magic/ a character or something) ?? -
