So the cast for thew live action adaptation of Disney’s The Beauty and the Beast is starting to shape up.

    Emma Watson is Belle

It was originally rumored that Ryan Gosling was in the top spot/pick for The Beast but it was officially confirmed that Dan Stevens got that role.

I’m curious who will get cast as Belle’s papa, Maurice. My pick would be Michael Caine but I don’t know what his availability looks like.

I totally agree. He’s got those baby blue eyes that match the beast perfectly.

Josh Gad, best known for voicing Olaf in Frozen and originating the role of Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, has joined the cast as Le Fou. Le Four is of course Gaston’s iconic sidekick: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/josh-gad-joining-disneys-live-781061

I have to admit, that’s perfect casting.

Emma Thompson has been cast as Mrs. Potts, and Kevin Kline has been cast as Belle’s father, Maurice. The film will feature songs from both the original Disney film and the Broadway musical, and apparently Alan Menken and Tim Rice will also be writing new songs specifically for the film. The film will also be released in 3D:
