The first teaser trailer has been released. It doesn’t show very much (so it definitely does it’s job of teasing), but it looks absolutely beautiful.
That trailer is EVERYTHING. I actually got very teary eyed.

Very beautiful and mesmerizing!
While waiting for this film to come out next spring, I highly recommend the 2014 French live-action version of Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête). You can find it on youtube with English subtitles.

I’m not quite sold on Emma Watson as Belle. Of course she could knock it out of the park within the full movie, but in that trailer I’m not seeing Belle, I’m seeing Emma Watson or at the very least Hermione in a dress.
It’s the voice that does it. It’s too flat, too Hermione like. Most actors alter their voices for roles, whether it be dropping an accent or gaining one, or speaking higher or lower than normal so you hear the character speak and not the actor. I’m hearing Emma Watson saying Belle’s lines not Belle.
Ewan McGregor talks a little bit about Beauty and the Beast on The Graham Norton show from 1:45. They also talk briefly to Jack Whitehall about Frozen. WARNING: some swearing- only one or two words.

I haven’t seen all of it yet, but I’m not too impressed with what I have seen.
– I’m a little underwhelmed with Belle’s dress. Should have been way more extravagant in my opinion. Cinderella’s gown was gorgeous. Belle’s dress is so downplayed. I figured they would have a different dress in the end for the final dance, but even that one was so bland and didn’t stand out against all the other ones.
– Emma Watson should not have been casted as Belle.
– Audra McDonald is life.
– I loved some of the songs. The new song Days In The Sun is beautiful.
– Why is this movie so dark? Not in terms of tone, but in like actual looks.
– A lot of unrequeired scenes. I felt the same about the original, a good half hour could be shaved off this movie because a lot of it feels like filler.
But that’s just my general impression, I haven’t watched all of it yet.
Unrelated but I found this pic online. I wish Belle’s dress had been similar. I know its a photoshopped version of Cinderellas dress but gosh does it look spectacular.
