I think there is no chance that Pinocchio got turned into a clock. That seems bizarre. Though i don’t want him to be Pinocchio. And i think the writers have done a lot of meaningless hints in the past so the Pinocchio hints could all be red herrings as well.

I completely agree. Besides, a lot of people (including myself) have noticed that many of the show’s episode stills and behind the scenes photos tend to be very misleading. So combined with that, I’ll bet money that August is not Pinocchio. Personally, I think he’ll turn out to be Peter Pan or Rumpel’s son.
Did anyone see the article where the producers confirmed that they’ll be able to do Peter Pan? Here’s the link:

I would agree that August could be Bae *if* the writers hadn’t stated that centuries had passed since we last saw him. If I didn’t know that, then I would be torn between that theory and the Pinocchio one, especially based on what we know about the next episode. But if centuries have passed, August can’t be Bae unless there is some illogical time warp involved.
I don’t understand why people think he might be Peter Pan, though. Peter Pan’s story hasn’t even been touched on, so to have him show up now would be completely out of the blue. And Neverland is a separate realm- it’s an island you reach by flying second star to the right and straight on till morning in our world. I also think August is too important of a character to be from a story that hasn’t been a part of the show yet.
Shows like this love to drop hints throughout the episodes as to the real answer of a mystery that people don’t always connect initially, but when you go back and look, it becomes obvious. I don’t think the writers would go with something random. Pinocchio missing in Storybrooke, a 7 year old boy finding baby Emma, August constantly insisting that he doesn’t lie even though he told a tall tale saying he saw lemurs in Nepal- those are all subtle blink-and-you-miss-it hints. I will be very surprised if they turn out to be mere coincidences and red herrings.
What are examples of previous times when they did mislead us? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

Depends on how sharp you are. Me, not so much. I totally missed the Sheriff as the Huntsman until that episode, Red as the wolf until about 10 seconds before the reveal. Meaning I didn’t notice anything in the previous episodes.

Well true- they did make it look as if Peter was the wolf rather than Red herself…but that was within the episode. I’m talking about an example in which they deliberately left a trail of hints over several episodes that turned out to be completely wrong.
April 5, 2012 at 4:26 am #140996lorem ipsumParticipantAngieBelle, I know exactly what you mean. My problem is I get so into the show I miss the hints and I know they are there. Then I re watch and miss them again because I’m swept away AGAIN by the show LOL! I turn on the captions, that doesn’t help either 😆 Maybe I need to wait for the DVD 😀 The only thing I was mislead on was I thought Dr. Whale was the big bad wolf. He has such wolfish behavior.

Pinocchio is a large cuckoo clock I figured he either reverted back to wood or was an orphan boy similar to Ava and Nicholas. but I like the cuckoo clock idea better.
Dude, the only folks who are cuckoo are all you folks livin’ in denial not thinking he’s Pinocchio. 😛 😆 😉
@Phee LOL 😆
I know it’s a long shot, but I am rooting for Peter Pan

Those points at the bottom of the article (where it mentions Peter Pan) seem to be taken from the WonderCon panel they did. I was watching youtube of it the other day, will see if I can find it again….
Here we go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzC_v91lFOs
At the 2:45 mark, they’re asked which characters are on their wish list and where they’re at with Peter Pan and the answer is, “We’re still trying to get that,” then they mention Ariel, Mulan and Rapunzel as other characters they want to use, which are the exact characters that bit in the article mentions. -
