Personally, I think Hook might try to get Belle to fall for his charms, but in the end, I think the writers will have Rumpel wooing her all over again. I think his genuine feelings and his determination will win her over. If all else fails, he can always rely on good old magic. He’s already concocted a potion that allows him to cross the town line, and that’s pretty powerful magic.
Okay, so as much as I feel Hook might try to charm Belle, I believe true love will triumph at the end. It’s the how and the when that will have fans speculating. I just hope this development is resolved by the end of this season, and not the beginning of season 3. That would surely drive me up the wall.

I have to wonder if while Rumple is busy in NY if Hook & Belle won’t end up bonding while in the hospital together.[
That would be really fun to watch, but I don’t think it will happen; a non-lethal bullet wound isn’t a problem for a guy who can reattach arms, and I can’t see Rumpel letting them put Belle back in the basement.

Haha, I’m the one person who voted “Belle will not regain her memory & fall in love with another person.”
I like the drama, you see 😈I think Carolanne and I kinda beat you to the punch when we suggested Belle would hook up with Hook while Rumple is away. Sort of counts, doesn’t it?

But do you actually root for Belle ending up with Hook for good?
As much as I started to like her character, she was kinda annoying with this sticking to Rumple at all costs and “I see the good in you” (but not in Hook? 🙄 ) when he didn’t even show any sign of trying to redeem himself. I understand taking such a stand is difficult though and takes some balls so I was curious to how it would continue. But now the situation has revolved 180 degrees, I wouldn’t mind if Belle found someone else, for good. We saw that the Storybrooke characters before the curse had no problem of forgetting the people they truly loved when back in Fairy Tale Land – both the Charmings, Katherine, Grace and, to the certain extent, Sean (Cinderella’s bf) and Nova or Hansel’s and Gretel’s father.
So now, since the memory loss cannot be undone, even according to Rumple, Belle, in a way, has another chance, of falling in love with someone who doesn’t require that much work! 🙄January 20, 2013 at 2:17 am #169187snowfallsParticipant^I highly doubt Belle’s memory loss will be permament. Early on the season, Adam and Eddie said that Belle and Rumpel would have to fall in love all over again. At first, I thought they were referring to the fact that it had been 28 years since they had saw each other. But after the events of last week’s episode, their comments make a lot more sense. I think all Rumpel has to do is just find a way to make her fall in love with her again. Simple.

Yes, I remember those quotes too. I think that will be the plan for Rumbelle going forward this season. 😉

OMG! THANK YOU! That makes me feel a lot better. 😀

That may be what needs to happen, and I sincerely hope it does, but I dunno if I’d call it “simple”. 😆
Rumple has to man up, drop the facade, put aside the magic, and be completely vulnerable and honest with her. That won’t be an easy task for him. Then there’s also the fact that anyone in town who disapproves of Rumple, which, let’s face it, is pretty much everyone, wouldn’t have much nice stuff to say about him if Belle asks them who he is. And then she may well still have Hook in her ear, reminding her that Rumple killed his wife. And if Bae comes to town, he may well warn her off getting involved with his father.
So, yeah, not such a simple process, but that’s fine with me, because complicated is more interesting. Rumple’s been on a 300 year long descent into hell, so I hope they don’t give him a quick fix and instead make him really work at it to climb back up to become a good man, and win Belle’s heart back in the process.

I like the chemistry between Rumple and Belle and ultimately want to see them back together.. But, I wouldn’t mind a little challenge and a few bumps in the road along the way.

January 20, 2013 at 4:02 pm #169256the fairestParticipantI don’t mind there being a few bumps along the road, but having Belle and Rumpel hook up with other people would be a pretty big violation of the rules of true love. Yes, MM and David had separate love lives, but they were under a curse. And even though they both slept with other people, they never truly fell in love with those people. David was never truly in love with Kathryn (sure he loved her, but he was never in love with her.) And all MM could do was have a one night stand with Dr. Whale, but she herself admitted that it was a mistake. MM and David kept gravitating back to each other. They could barely stay away from each other. They knew they had something special, but they could never truly express it because of the curse. So having Belle legitimately fall for someone else would be ridiculous.
