^I highly doubt Belle’s memory loss will be permament. Early on the season, Adam and Eddie said that Belle and Rumpel would have to fall in love all over again. At first, I thought they were referring to the fact that it had been 28 years since they had saw each other. But after the events of last week’s episode, their comments make a lot more sense. I think all Rumpel has to do is just find a way to make her fall in love with her again. Simple.
Yes, I agree. Of course it won’t be “simple.” Mr. Gold will have to find a way to make Belle fall in love with someone she doesn’t even know and has probably heard terrible things about. But judging by the producers’ comments, I think Belle will fall back in love with Rumpel by the end of the season.
I don’t mind there being a few bumps along the road, but having Belle and Rumpel hook up with other people would be a pretty big violation of the rules of true love. Yes, MM and David had separate love lives, but they were under a curse. And even though they both slept with other people, they never truly fell in love with those people. David was never truly in love with Kathryn (sure he loved her, but he was never in love with her.) And all MM could do was have a one night stand with Dr. Whale, but she herself admitted that it was a mistake. MM and David kept gravitating back to each other. They could barely stay away from each other. They knew they had something special, but they could never truly express it because of the curse. So having Belle legitimately fall for someone else would be ridiculous.
Exactly. Of course there should be drama and bumps along the road, but the writers need to be careful when it comes to tampering with its “true love” couples. If they mess with the concept too much, then it’ll no longer qualify as “true love.”

It’s kind of like what David had to go through with Snow White in “Heart of Darkness” I think Rumple will have to win her over in order for true love’s kiss to kick in. It just seems like it’s gonna be a tougher road back.
I wonder if Belle will regain her memory when she comes face to face with Regina again.
Regina has affected Belle’s life dramatically. Being locked away, even before the curse, is not something that can be forgotten. Whilst Belle may not be able to conciously remember, the memories are still there. Also didn’t the writers say in an interview when asked whether or not Belle will confront Regina over what she did, they replied “she should” or something along those lines?
With Regina looking linke she’s going back into Evil Queen mode, it could be the kick start for Belle remembering.
All magic comes with a price!
