Okay…
Belle is freaking awesome. I loved seeing her strong side in the outsider.People have been saying they wished she wasn’t so naive…that she was not knowing what she was getting in to with Rumpel? but she totally knew. Shes not dumb, as we see in the episode…she can take care of herself, and I love that. 🙂
I like how Rumple respected her opinion and what she did to get the cloak back. I love that….”This would have been lost…I would have been lost.”The way she reacted to milah was different than I think we all expected…she was able to let it go quite easy. Idk about you, but that surprised me. Rumpel is lucky she is so understanding.
Hook shooting belle….even though I don’t like it, I’m glad he actually did something, cause you know those scenes are like…threatening, and then nothing ever happens. But it actually happened…my rumbelle heart is suffering greatly… :O
also…where did she get shot? I didn’t see it. hahaHer struggling with Rumpel in the Enchanted Forest was cool, weather to go back or not. I liked how she and Mulan were good together, but Mulan was kind of a jerk at first…haha…..anyways…yeah…
Any Belle thoughts?

It was desperation that caused her father to call on him for help with the ogres. Belle may be willing to see the good in Rumple but she is well aware that he is no saint. She doesn’t dwell on the person he used to be or pretends to be but she sees him for who he really is and how he is trying to better himself.
Rumple needs Belle to remind him that he is not a monster and that there is good in him despite what everyone else thinks. Without her, Rumple is a loose cannon. Hook may be forced to hang out with the Charmings for his own protection. If it weren’t for the car, Rumple would’ve sent that fireball at Hook.
All magic comes with a price!

She ended up being the episode’s hero. She saved Archie and Prince Philip. And of course, she ended up being Rumpel’s own personal savior by helping him turn against his dark side.

She helped Mulan track down a demon, she saved Prince Philip from his curse, she fought off Hook in the library, tracked down his ship, rescued Archie, fought Hook off again for a second time and did it all in a mini-skirt and high heel shoes. This chick is awesome.

This was one little thing that just didn’t sit quite right with me. Absolutely LOVED everything else about that scene, Belle and Hook were both brilliant in it, the tension was perfection. But when you’re told that your boyfriend ripped out his wife’s heart and killed her…that should give you pause…for more than two seconds. I love that she can believe in the good in Rumple, he needs that if he’s got any hope of becoming a better person, but that was a major revelation, and I think they should have addressed her thought process over it a bit more. Even if, in the later scene in the car, when Rumple was all, “after everything I’ve done,” if they’d had him add, “even killing my wife,” so they could have allowed another moment to show her considering it, instead of just glossing over it as though it was a deed no worse than anything else he’s done.
Other than that, I really enjoyed what they did with Belle’s story, and I like that it showed a different type of heroism by having her use knowledge and compassion, instead of kicking butt with a sword, to be victorious.

I thought so too, Phee. I thought Belle should have been a little more…”what!?” I thought that would work when hook said that. Hook was really good, I know people are like he was a terrible villain in this ep. But I mean common, how would you like it if belle shoved a big book case on you? haha 😛 🙂 And I must admit he was crazy good and creepy when he told Belle about Milah…yeah, I thought he played it as well as he could, which was fantastic. I loved his line after belle says that his heart is rotting…’you have no Idea.’ Gave me shivers.
Belle should have, even if she had her mind up in forgiving him, like….maybe said something more about it.Other than that, I enjoyed it too…and I’m scared about the upcoming episodes, not gonna lie… haha 😛 😀
P.S….. EQ, that picture makes me cry every time I see it! well, not really…but I’m crying inside!

January 15, 2013 at 7:05 pm #168474evilqueenParticipantI’m not that surprised with Belle’s reaction.
To start with, she was Ok with the news that he had a wife and Hook took it. She shouldn’t be overwhelmed by that fact because she knew of Bae and where do the children come from, huh? 🙄
As for what exactly happened to Milah – come on, the show was very clear on how clever Belle was. Of course when Rumple didn’t want to tell her what happened and then, when she presses, he just added ‘Let’s just say she died’, it’s not hard to connect the dots. She must have guessed it long before Hook told her so she didn’t look that surprised in the scene. The reason why she was pretending she didn’t know anything about it and kept asking Hook questions was more about gaining time so she could come up with some escape plan, look what’s around and switch positions so he would stand exactly where she wanted him – at least that’s how it looked to me 😉January 15, 2013 at 7:26 pm #168479ZieraParticipantInteresting thought, I can honestly say that didn’t occur to me…I thought she didn’t know. Cause Rumple made it sound like Hook took her and somehow she died cause of him. Also she likes believing the best about people, so I think she gave Rumple the benefit of the doubt. The only time I thought she was considering it was when Hook said, ‘Is that what he told you?’ and then I think she connected the dots. Maybe she didn’t want to before, but it was staring her in the face then. And then I could see her buying herself time after that playing dumb…I agree with you that much, as in she probably knew about it before hook said it. 😉
