I have a question, if the Black Fairy has Gideon’s heart was that Gideon in the dream world or Gideon being controlled by the Black Fairy
I guess that was just Gideon? Feeding on Belle’s own fears about Rumple and “seeing” bits of Rumple’s past

I completely see how that could be true but then that makes it an awfully big coincidence that Gideon is basically telling Belle right before he is born that she knows what she needs to do and there is no other way but to give him up to the blue fairy. Then you have the black fairy who somehow knows the blue fairy has Gideon, where to find her, overpowers her, and then takes Gideon. Could all of this be Belle being insecure and scared? Yes especially after all the horribleness that Rumple/Belle were doing to each other since she woke up from the sleeping curse, but that is kind of my point. Before the sleeping curse Rumple and Belle were not working together very well but they were not being completely horrible to each other either, that all happened after she was woken up by Gideon who basically then visited her to periodically tell her that Rumple was out to get them and destroy his life.

Of course I love Beauty and the Beast and Rumbelle so I want to see good things happen here.

Totally get wanting to headcanon that. I guess I just don’t get *how* and this is one of those things where I find it super hard to suspend disbelief because at the point where Belle was trapped in the Dream World and interacting with her son, Gideon was–at most–3 weeks old? If that! The Black Fairy hadn’t pulled his heart which would have been microscopic and I’m not sure how far her influence extends without a heart. Now it could be, with the revelation that she made the Dark Curse and somehow got that to the EF and perhaps has been pulling multiple threads in our story, her influence extends quite a bit into other worlds and she’s able to control everything, including a just conceived fetus in an imaginary dream world.
My BUT here is that if she’s *that* powerful then 1) why bother taking his heart at all and 2) is there really no way she could free herself from her realm without the aid of the Emma-Sword.

They are going to try and rattle off a bunch in her centric but we aren’t going to get them all unfortunately. I do however hope she IS that powerful.
April 15, 2017 at 9:04 am #336148bibliophileParticipantThe storyline where Gideon was communicating with Belle while still in the womb was always ridicules and I would love to see them come up with a way to make that work. At the moment the only thing I can come up with is that The Black Fairy somehow has some Seer type powers too and she saw all this coming and so she somehow glamoured herself as her still unborn grandson in Belle’s dreams in order to get what she wanted which seems to have been (as heard on the podcast from I believe Sci-Fi Girl) to get Gideon and make him the thing she loves most (seems impossible for her to love anyone I know, but remember Pan was able to use Felix’s heart) so that she can use his heart to cast her own dark curse.
But if that’s true does this mean Rumple is going to lose yet another son? How can this be good writing in a world where Hook dies every other season and comes back?
April 15, 2017 at 9:17 am #336150TheWatcherParticipantGideon speaking to belle while in the womb happened before he was taken by the black fairy. He didn’t get his heart snatched until he was 28.
But I’m more concerned that now we are back at step one with Gideon. He gave a whole thing about how he wants to save all those kids and how he has to defeat black fairy because he promised to save them and all that but now we know that’s not true. She’s been controlling him the whole time.

I still don’t know how I feel about thisEven people without their hearts can have independent thought. Graham helped Snow escape. Hook squeezed Emma’s hand. I think what Gideon said about wanting to save the kids was true.

Keeper of FelixApril 15, 2017 at 5:41 pm #336167AKAParticipantI think it has been pretty well established that unless the controller is directly holding the heart and directing the victim they are in control of their own actions. I believe Gideon does want to defeat the black fairy and save the kids.

On Wonderland, Alice had to tell Will to stop following Cora’s order to kill her on her own.
Anyway, I recently wrote a Rumble fic. It’s part of a canon-divergent longfic that splits off before the last scene of “Broken Heart,” in case you’re a bit confused.
