I’ve been thinking. Since the magic Mr. Gold brought into our world was created from true love, most of the characters on the show will be able to use it. Emma (because of her love for Henry), Snow and Charming, and even Rumpel (because of his love for Belle and Baelfire). Regina however, may be the only one left out. Regina’s true love, Daniel, is dead and she killed the only other person who she really loved: Her father, Henry. Yes, she has little Henry, but since the writers chose to have Emma’s kiss revive Henry, I think that was confirmation that Regina’s kiss probably wouldn’t have worked.
Mr. Gold is going to have the added pressure of balancing his love for Belle with his love of magic. If my theory is true, then Mr. Gold will be blending two of his greatest obsessions together. Love and magic.

I love this theory. It would be a very interesting take on true love and magic. I love twists like that. I also agree that Mr. Gold will have two problems on his hands. His love for Belle and his obsession with magic. If the two are forced to be linked together, than that can cause some serious issues between Belle and Rumpel. But then again, it may end up helping. Rumpel will be forced to balance his love of Belle with his love of magic. So, he may end up creating an interesting balance between the two opposing forces.
For some strange reason, I like the idea of Rumpel and Belle being linked through magic. I know it’s probably just my fangirl heart talking right now, but I think it’s kind of romantic.
Or at least it will be in the beginning.

I wonder if the pink enchanted rose from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will come into play in season 2? If Rumpel is going to be working with true love magic from now on, then he’s going to need a symbol of that. Back in Fairytale land, the Dark One was always connected to the dagger. The dagger held some sort of power or control over him. But now that Mr. Gold is working with the magic of true love, he’ll need a new object or symbol. I think it’ll be the enchanted rose. 😀

I would love for Disney’s enchanted rose to be introduced into the story. Since Rumpel’s new strategy is to work with magic made from true love, he’ll need a new object that represents his power. The enchanted rose would represent that new-found power perfectly. 😀
I think the symbolism of the rose is represented by the dagger.
I think we can all agree that we would all fangirl if Rumpel was stabbed, but saved by Belle as she kisses him.

but there are so many roses in Storybrooke…it would be hard to pick the right one.
I re-watched ‘Skin Deep’ again.
During the scene where Gold beats up Belle’s father in the cabin, this is what my mom asked:
My mom: Is he bad?
Me: He’s not bad…he just needs a really BIG hug. 😆 😆I. LOVE. THIS. COUPLE.
Period. End of story. Goodnight.
P.S. I love the true love theory. Only those who are in love or possess love can use the magic. Magic is unpredictable in this world and probably has numerous complex and complicated rules. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the rules in this new world is that only a certain type of person can use magic. Only those who possess certain characteristics will be given access to it.
