These two have become all-time favorite couple. I loved seeing Rumpel actually fall in love with someone. I never would have expected Rumpelstiltskin (of all people) to have a true love. In many aspects, I find their romance more tragic and beautiful than Snow and Charming’s. There’s a strong undercurrent of death and tragedy that makes this couple particularly heartbreaking. I hope nothing happens to Belle. He’s going to need both Belle and Baelfire to bring him back into the light and return him to the gentle loving man he once was. Baelfire and Belle both kept trying to convince him to get rid of his powers, but he refused. So, now that both Belle and Baelfire are alive at the same time, he can finally work towards his happy ending.
And in regards to what they’ll say to each other in the finale, I don’t really care what it is to be honest. 😆 Even if all they share is a lingering look and few words, that’s actually better. That means that their story will be drawn out and will take (hopefully) many seasons to complete. 😀

You know, there are actually those who don’t like the couple and think it’s a bad relationship. And I sort of follow the logic of it. Rumple does lock Belle up in his castle and forces her to work for him as a slave. But the redeeming thing is that he’s decent with her and isn’t really acting like a master to a servant. He’s only like that in the beginning, really. He’s not bossy and strict all the time and giving her orders.@Beauty & the Beast wrote:

Beauty and the Beast does have some disturbing elements, but so do all fairytales. They were originally teaching tools. Just look at Little Red Riding Hood, that has subtext out the waazoo and has filled numerous books disecting it’s meaning. Beauty and the Beast was originally told as a tale to help ease girls into their new marriages, which were often arranged with someone they never met and far from home. It showed that their future husbands weren’t all monsters. So actually it’s one of the few that’s meant to be uplifting and reassuring, not just cautionary.

I love Once’s take on the Beauty and the Beast story. I think it was brilliant, and making Rumpel the ‘figurative’ beast was awesome. Rumbelle when you think about, is the anti-superficial pairing. Prince Charming is great but making Rumpel the beast, shows you don’t have to be as perfect as Charming to get the girl.

I agree! What makes us love or like a person has to do with personality, charisma and chemistry, which has nothing to do with looks. And who has more personality than Rumple? 😀 No wonder Belle fell for him.
