I want to see Belle’s side of the story so badly!  It’s lovely seeing this eerie ethereal Neverland version of her, but it’s not really her- she’s an extension of Rumple’s own mind as far as we know.  I want to know Belle’s real thoughts and feelings- how she’s been coping since they all left.

I’ve got a theory!

Jo and I keep joking that Belle’s going to be in NL and will get there by riding on Ariel’s back like a dolphin, but joking aside I do think that Belle’s gonna be in NL by the end of 307. Why 307? Because 308 introduces us to Rumple’s father and so all his daddy issues are going to rearing their ugly head in the present as well, cause that’s how this show works. Belle can be there to help him through it and show him that he’s never alone. And there will be kissing.

I’m starting to believe in the plausibility of this theory more and more. In an interview, Joanna Garcia (aka Ariel) gave some big hints about Ariel’s role in S3:

But you don’t get to interact with Belle, who is unfortunately stuck under the Storybrooke dome. 

Joanna Garcia: Well, I wouldn’t be so sure about that!

She’s good! JoAnna’s answer could be interpreted two ways. 1) Don’t be so sure that Belle and Ariel interact in SB (which we know they do, given the spoiler pics for 3×7) or 2) Don’t be so sure that Bell is stuck in SB. I prefer the second interpretation myself.

She also gave away a big spoiler that could impact Rumbelle:

ETA: Disregard everythingI just theorized about, because another article that just came out basically rules out the Belle-hitches-a-ride-to-NL-on-Ariel’s-back-theory. 🙁

It’s not as far down the pike as you would imagine. Like I said, mermaids can swim between realms, so we do get to interact. Obviously when you’re a guest on a show, it’s your job to help the heroes along in their journey, and I really love the fact that Ariel gets to do that in a lot of ways.

I don’t think that would be suggested! But the bag that you were asking about, it definitely helps in her journey.
