I just needed to say that. I’m prepared for some hate if it’s comin
I want to stand up and applaud you.
I am like..beyond angry at Rumple but mostly at the writers. Everything he did in 311 is now for nothing. “You made me stronger, Belle”
Well apparently not strong enough.
A and E seem absolutely incapable writing human drama for this pair. They rather it be constant separation and angst and turmoil.
This has been my OTP since Skin Deep aired. Everyone who knows me, knows how I feel about these two and I’m just sitting here looking at these two going, “why bother?”

I still want them to have a happy ending but I honestly need a break and ‘ship what makes me happy at the moment and finish working on my true love meta.
now, if there’s happy development in the next episode that’s awesome but I need a break.

I think Rumple’s lie to Belle last episode, whilst a poor call on his part, shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. Belle should definitely call him out on it and give him a piece of her mind, but these two characters have been through so much that breaking them up over a lie would be simply horrible. They’ve been apart for over a year, they need chance to just sit down and talk without constantly being separated by one thing or another. Real couples argue, have disagreements and fall out with each other, but they also work through their problems together. RumBelle don’t get chance to work through their issues together because they are constantly separated. That’s what annoys me so much about OutlawQueen and Regina in Kansas, Regina has done worse than Rumple in the past yet she gets to be the hero who can use white magic because of TLK without her heart and she gets to be in a partnership that’s so easy because Regina is so good now. Her “heroes don’t kill” speech was so hypocritical because you just know if it had been Henry that died, Regina would’ve been first in line to kill Zelena.
I want to see RumBelle argue over Rumple’s lack of honesty but I don’t want it to break them up. Rumple’s just been through a very traumatic experience, being under Zelena’s control for a year, being forced to do things he didn’t want to do aginst his will, watching his son die right in front of him and not being able to stop it, that his head is all over the place. Rumple genuinely loves Belle with all his heart (as has been confirmed by A&E) but it’s possible his proposal to her was a knee-jerk reaction to what he’d just gone through. That’s not to say the proposal
wasn’t meaningful, it was, but Belle is the only person Rumple has left that he truly cares about, he wants to keep her close.Rumple had wanted to kill Zelena for so long, the thought of killing her might have been the only thing that enabled him to cope throughout his imprisonment and forced servitude, so when he had the chance of course he was going to take it. When people wrong Rumple, Rumple takes it very badly, and Zelena had wronged Rumple in the extreme. Let’ s not forget that Zelena had ordered him to kill Belle in FTL for kicks, and had more or less a hand in Baelfire’s death. For Rumple stopping someone completely means killing them so they can’t be a threat again. Rumple isn’t like Snow, giving someone numerous chances in the hope that they’d eventually repent. It was easy for Regina to not kill Zelena at the time because Zelena hadn’t killed anyone Regina truly loved, Regina did threaten to kill Zelena though if she tried anything again, Rumple just killed Zelena before she had the chance to try anything which is actually a logical course of action if you think about it.
Also Rumple didn’t actually promise Belle not to harm Zelena. His proposal wasn’t a distraction, just a changing the subject. Sometimes Rumple’s silences say more than his words.
So in conclusion, RumBelle should argue about Rumple’s lack of honesty, should work through it together and not break up.

All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixMay 10, 2014 at 9:25 am #268191obisgirlParticipantI understand Rumple’s motivation, I do. He does have the tendency to lash out to people whom he feels wronged him but he lied to Belle again.
And this is bigger than a lie; he mislead her to believe that he trusted her to hold onto his dagger and not use it. He really did not need to do that. He could have taken it back.
I feel like this might be the last of rumbelle? How do you come back from misleading someone on purpose to get some revenge, even if the revenge was semi-justified?
Chances are, Zelena’s murder will be found out next episode. David’s still sheriff even though he’s on paternity leave. It’s going to come out and Belle will find out and she’ll know Rumple was responsible. I would be very disappointed if Belle ends up never knowing because honestly, that would be worse because it would be a marriage built on lies and deception as opposed to a true happy place.

You think they wont break up? Of course they will.
If Belle doesn’t break up with him to show him that there are consequences to KILLING SOMEONE after you’ve made all these grand speeches about being stronger and wanting to get back to the best version of himself—then I’m going to loose a lot of respect for Belle. Because it would mean that she’s just a doormat who can’t tell right from wrong. All the criticism hurled at Rumbelle would 100% true.
This is to say nothing of the fact that A and E CLEARLY have NO IDEA how to write for them and have no idea how to write for Rumple where he’s not the Dark One. They find Human Rumple boring.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 10, 2014 at 9:29 am #268197KebParticipantBelle will eventually come back to him, but I hope like heck they make him earn it (again). It’s gonna take one heckuva library this time.
But yeah, Belle IS gonna call him out on it. She always has.

I agree @RumplesGirl !!
Of all the power couples on Once, I’ve always felt that rumbelle stood for the most realistic fairy tale couple. Rumple does bad, Belle calls him out on it and I like that about her.
And honestly, I want her to give Rumple a hard time on this one. Because it isn’t like when he unleashed the wraith on Regina in Broken. This was a direct action. There has to be consequences and if that is losing Belle, then so be it.
May 10, 2014 at 9:44 am #268205RumplesGirlKeymasterRumbelle could have been this epic story about how love can change a person, how it can alter your state of being. But the writers just have NO interest in it, apparently. Belle should have gone to NL that was mistake #1. Put Belle in NL with Rumple, helping him find his grandson and reconnect to his son, while fighting off the darkness within. THAT would have been a great story. But they just have no interest in telling a human story apparently
Do I sound angry? Cause I am.
