Very nice KJ.
Saw this on tumblr and it got me thinking
Belle looks so insecure, vulnerable and worried. She is terrified that Rumple might of murdered Zelena. But also, that he didn’t give/trust her enough for the dagger-aswell as making a ‘fool’ out of her. In their first scene, she comes in with the fake dagger-unsure and afraid of holding ‘this much power.’Rumple looks terrified of the consequences of his actions. He gives a slight smile when Belle looks at him-in a sort of reassuring way.but looks away nervously and avoids eye contact. Rumple isn’t confident about his plans and his keeping secrets from Belle. You can literally see the worry for the very real possibility that he may lose her forever.
It makes so much sense and explains why Rumple was so insistent on Belle keeping the “dagger”. He knows that he has screwed up big time by lying to Belle. The dagger was a symbol of his trust in her, and he had used her trust in him to get what he wanted which was revenge against Zelena.
However Rumple is in trouble now. He was a bit tunnel vision on his revenge, saying and doing what he needed to in order to keep Belle off his case so that he could kill Zelena, however now that he achieved his revenge, he is now having to tell more and more lies to Belle in order to cover up the original lie. He insisted she keep the fake dagger, even though it would be logical to hide the dagger, because he is trying to prove that he trust her, he’s over compensating.
Rumple doesn’t like lying to Belle, he doesn’t want to lie to her, but he feels like he has to because he’s worried that if she finds out about the original lie, he’ll lose her. However by lying to cover up the original lie, he’s only digging a deeper hole for himself.

Because I am expecting a major fallout from this because this scene in the jail demonstrated that it isn’t just one lie anymore, it’s going to keep stacking up and get bigger, and bigger until Rumple can’t keep lying anymore.
And then very bad stuff is going to hit the fan.

I just don’t want RumBelle to break up. They’re constantly being separated and it would be nice for them to overcome this obstacle together.
That said, Belle should totally send Rumple to the doghouse for his lies. I do think the bigger issue for Belle is not going to be the murder but the lies Rumple fed her.

Keeper of FelixMay 22, 2014 at 5:58 pm #270966RumplesGirlKeymasterI really can’t see Belle not having a problem with murder. She even tells everyone when they go to the jail that she would have curbed his homicidal tendencies. Belle is not going to be passively OK with murder. And frankly if she is, then it’s proof that the writers really have no idea who to write her because she shouldn’t be okay with casual murder. None of the couples should be okay with their significant other murdering another person!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 22, 2014 at 6:06 pm #270969PriceofMagicParticipantBelle would have an issue with the murder but the lying makes it all the more worse is what I mean (though she was okay with the potential murder of Pan). Hence the bigger issue for Belle would be the lying. God that is going to be a heartbreaking episode.

May 23, 2014 at 2:55 pm #271114seamstressParticipantI agree with PoM. I don’t think they had Rumbelle married just so they could apply for a divorce right after. But this will no doubt cause a lot of drama. And Rumple does deserve to spend some time in the doghouse.
Obviously he is feeling like s**t for lying to Belle, so I think he will prove himself in a big way in the end. Again. I guess Rumple’s next personal issue to deal with is the DO’s curse (the dagger), so maybe he will even give up his powers/the curse for her..
I’m lookng forward to an interesting/heartbreaking/angsty/beautiful (yes, I believe this will end beautifully) Rumbelle storyline.
May 23, 2014 at 5:02 pm #271117obisgirlParticipantRumple can’t just give up being the Dark One. The only way he isn’t is if someone kills him
May 23, 2014 at 7:18 pm #271121seamstressParticipantI don’t think it’s necessarily the only way. I think the tlk might work too. As Rumple said: “True love is the most powerful magic in the world, the only magic powerful enough to break ANY curse”. And the tlk almost broke his curse in Skin Deep.
I’ve read many theories as to why it hasn’t broken his curse in SB, but my headcanon is that Rumple found a way to prevent the consequences of the kiss, like he found a cure for dreamshade poisoning after he almost died of it. So the tlk won’t work until Rumple allows it.
Of course it’s possible that his resurrection changed the rules and being stabbed with the dagger is the only way now. If that’s going to happen, I think the tlk from Belle will revive him. If Charming can be brought back after his heart was ripped out and crushed into dust, then Rumple can be saved too! 😉
Besides, Rumple dealing with being mortal again is way too delicious storyline to pass up. Just my opinion of course..

Okay, I would like to clarify by separation, I didn’t mean divorce. By separation, I meant just that – separation.
