Okay, as someone who has lost a number of people in my immediate family, I do know that every waking moment isn’t consumed by the loss. It’s always there simmering, but even as you’re going through funeral and preparations you have to have distractions. Otherwise, you’ll go insane. Although I’m extremely angry about the dagger/Zelena situation, Rumple proposing and marrying Belle makes sense. Losing someone gives you sense of what you have. So if he’s marrying Belle instead of constantly haunting Neal’s grave, I’m find it believable.
Plus, too much of this show happens off-screen. We don’t know what he’s done storywise that we’re never told. I’ve always said that Eddy and Adam shouldn’t have to NEED a podcast to explain their show. That’s lazy writing if you need clarification outside the source material. We might like additional information but we shouldn’t need it.
As for blame….I’m not pointing fingers. Woulda, shoulda, coulda. When it comes down to it, it’s just a tv show and Adam and Eddy decide the plot, not the characters. When it all comes down to it, I do get very angry with this show, but with the writers, not the characters.

Now she demands an apology from Regina and Hook, self respecting Belle, because this is what fans want. Never mind that Neal is “dead”. Neal? Wait, who’s Neal again?

We as viewers shouldn’t need articles and long winded interviews that explain motivations and psychology of characters. It should just *be* in show.
*sigh*

I don’t have a problem with Belle demanding apologies. That felt more “Belle” of Skin Deep than anything else. I might have issues with how the apologies came across, ect, but Belle demanding them was in character, for me.

If the shoe had been on the other foot, and Zelena had been Rumple’s sister and killed Henry and Rumple did the give her a second chance, you just know that Regina would’ve killed her before she ever reached the cell. It’s easy for Regina to give Zelena a second chance because Zelena didn’t take away one of the most important people to Regina or force Regina to do things against her will for kicks. Zelena ordered Rumple to kill Belle, right after Rumple had to absorb Neal to save him, just because she could not because Belle was a threat. Rumple could’ve potentially lost the 2 people that mean the most to him, just because Zelena could make him do it.
Rumple was going for the kill before Regina stopped him with the dagger and gave her hypocritical “heroes don’t kill” speech. But again, Regina hadn’t suffered at Zelena’s hands like Rumple had.
Exactly. I have no doubt that Regina would have killed Zelena if she had killed Henry. Yes, it seems that Regina is becoming a better person, but it’s easy to be good and nice when everything is fine and you get everything you have dreamed of..
We don’t know what’s going on in Rumple’s head. But it’s very likely that Rumple focussed on the thought of enacting revenge on Zelena to get him through his enforced servitude. His revenge is what sustained what little free-will he had left. Rumple wasn’t thinking rationally when he enacted his revenge on Zelena so now he is trying to cover up what he’s done because he doesn’t want to risk losing Belle. However, by doing so, he’s only digging a deeper hole for himself.
Makes sense.
It’s they lying to Belle that’s going to cause the tension between RumBelle next season rather than Zelena’s death IMO. I also think that Rumple will confess to Belle about his lies either willingly because he can’t face lying to her anymore, or a situation will arise where he is forced to tell the truth.
Agreed. And I do hope Rumple will confess of his own accord, rather than being forced to it because Belle faced danger and tried to summon him with the fake dagger..
I’m optimistic that RumBelle will resolve this issue together. Rumple is sometimes going to fall off the wagon, just like Regina has done in the past and will probably do in the future in some form. Belle is not going to give up on Rumple just because he’s screwed up. Is she going to be angry? Definitely. Disappointed in him? Most likely. But is she going to call it a day and be done with him? No.
I agree again. Hearts will be broken and there will be angst, but they will survive this.
Am I the only one who is bothered by Belle not talking about the elephat in the room? This was the first time he was free since THE LOSS OF THE CENTER OF HIS UNIVERSE (in RG’s words) its not like he, like the rest of them had time to mourn or even bury him. Where was he while belle was throwing shovelfuls of dirt into his child’s grave? Oh, right, he was being tortured in his cage.
I have to admit that it did bother me a bit. I think she is perhaps feeling a little guilty about Neals death, and that’s why she isn’t able to talk about it just yet. Later, probably. At least I hope so..

I don’t think it’s Belle so much as the writers who don’t want to dwell on Neal. Ever. At all. The fact that they haven’t shown Rumple at his son’s graveside….yeah I have words I’d like to say but I won’t

There was a podcast for season two but the host found a new gig and the podcast was cancelled. It would be nice to have an official podcast again. I couldn’t stand the official one much but if it’s good, I’d give it a listen.
May 27, 2014 at 11:30 pm #271490WickedRegalParticipantOh you know how things are, once their thrown within Adam and Eddy’s Plot of Doom….it happens, and never shows up again.
Examples:
1. The Taser
2. Mushu Dragon in China….a place with no magic that we never got an answer about how it was possible.
3. Tamara’s Grandmother
4. GOAT
5. And sadly….the newest edition, Neal….may he resurface in Season 4 (crosses fingers)

rumbelle became boring. if you’d have told me this a few months ago, that I would be bored by Rumbelle, I would tell you to stop smoking.

As upset as I am with the writers for a whole host of things, Rumbelle will always be more than that. Their current storyline, for example, is nothing to do with “kissing.” It’s about lying and Rumple’s inability to not use magic as an end when he feels hurt and betrayed. It’s about old habits dying hard. And it’s about whether or not Belle can forgive and whether or not Rumple can change. Neal is a part of Rumple’s story, and he’s a part of Rumbelle in the sense that he’s 1/3 of the Floof Family, but he was never the most important part to the Rumbelle ‘ship. And I say that as someone who loved Neal more than a whole heck of a lot of people. Rumbelle is, essentially, Beauty and the Beast. A story where there is no lost son and no grieving father. Neal is the writers own invention for the sake of Rumple (and Emma and Henry) backstory and development.
And given that their wedding kiss was like the first real legit Rumbelle moment the entire season (bypassing the somewhat-of-a-let-down proposal) then they haven’t been reduced to anything.
