What? I love Belle. Her accent is so adorable. I love that the producers allowed the actors to keep their original accents. Rumpel has a scottish accent, Graham had a scottish accent, ect. So, I don’t mind that Belle has an Australian accent.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I love accents! Although I’m also Australian, her accent just sounds a little funny to me 😆

Ok, here’s a list of all the reasons why I love Belle. 😀
-She’s played by Emilie de Ravin.
-Belle was my favorite Disney princess growing up.
-She sacrificed her youth and happiness to save her village from the ogres.
-She’s incredibly kind and understanding.
-She sees the best in everyone, even when they cannot see it themselves.
-I love the way she told off Rumpel at the end of “Skin Deep.”
-Judging by her long speech about true love in “Dreamy,” she’s a big romantic.
-Her growing friendship with Ruby.
-She has an uncanny ability to attract beasts. Just ask Rumpel and Ruby. 😆
-Her accent always puts a smile on my face.
-Her clothes. I know, I’m shallow. But I had to say it.
-I’m obsessed with Rumbelle.I agree with everything you just said. 😀

She sacrificed herself to save her village and family from the Ogre Wars. She was brave enough to stand up to Rumpel when he pulled away from her out of fear. And after spending 28 years locked in a tiny room, she was able to control her feelings of hatred for Regina, as well as Rumpel’s. I admire her and think she’s a very strong female character. But due to the lack of screentime she’s received this season, it’s difficult to see that.

I agree. Considering the limited amount of screentime Belle has received, she’s shown a lt of strength and compassion. That’s what I like about her most.

I completely agree.

You know, I agree. I know some people like to fault Belle for being too weak or not proactive enough. But given the horrible way she’s been treated all her life, of course she’s going to be taken advantage of. But the few times where she has shown strength, it’s been rather striking. Giving up her freedom to secure the freedom of her villagers, trying to help Rumpel reform his dark ways, having faith in Ruby. All of these things should be commended. Not everyone would have the courage to do these things.
December 10, 2012 at 7:28 pm #164383PriceofMagicParticipantI think people tend to view strength in physical form such as action scenes hence why Emma, Snow and Regina are seen as “strong” females. Belle has emotional strength rather than physical strength. After everything she has been through, she could easily be mistrusting of those around her, yet she’s not. She sees the good in people even if they don’t believe themselves to be good (Rumple). She is still caring and compassionate.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixDecember 10, 2012 at 7:30 pm #164385tiara_roseParticipantYeah, she is another kind of fighter. She will not attack people with a weapon, but she is brave, because she know the dangerous there are everywhere and face them altough. Only with her mind, her heart and the truth as her weapon and with that she get the Dark Ones heart without ripping it out. No one else has achieved that before. lBae has his heart before he was the Dark One.
Heros don't get their Happy Ending!

I agree. Strength doesn’t always have to be found at the end of a sword. Sometimes strength is found within.
