I’m hoping Rumbelle’s relationship will be less angst ridden in S3, but more open to discussing actually having a life together which means coming to terms with Lacey, Rumple’s magic, ect.

She does have a “superpower,” and the only other person described with a superpower so far is Emma, who is magical. (Of course, I also wonder how much magic ability Rumple will hang onto when/if he’s no longer the Dark One–he clearly added onto the Dark One’s knowledge/abilities over the years.)

Would Belle ever want to learn magic, though? She tells Dreamy in The Outsider
Grumpy: Wait! Belle, wait. It’s fairy dust. Might come in handy.
(He hands Belle a small satchel.)
Belle: Oh, no… Thank you, I… I’ve seen what magic does to people.
Grumpy: You’ve seen what dark magic does. Fairies use this for good. Now go be a hero.
And while yes later she uses the fairy dust for good, I don’t know if Belle will ever be open enough to magic to try and use it herself. I think she is going to be more willing for Rumple to use magic after her stint as Lacey, but it’s not for her.

Rumplestiltskin has the powers of a seer and maybe other things. Even if he lost the curse, he may still retain those powers. It would be kind of interesting to see Rumple go from manipulative power player to oracle. (It would also free up some free time for his love life. ::smirk:: )

He heard Rumple’s phone conversation with Belle in Miller’s Daughter, and was moved by it, yet when he met Belle in person she was Lacey. If first impressions are important, then Lacey/Belle hasn’t made a good one.
All magic comes with a price!

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I really want Bae and Belle to be friends and to work together to help Rumple on his road back to the light. But yeah, his first face to face meeting she’s standing over Whale smirking while Rumple tries to give him a face full of boot. But I can see Bae forgiving this, he’s a very kind soul and I think he’ll understand that Lacey and Belle are not technically the same person, they may be both but that is only when Belle regains her memories.

Welcome to the party. We have cookies. And feelings. Lots and lots of feelings.

And I love how on Tumblr the accepted summer headcanon is already that because she got the spell to protect Storybrooke, Belle’s about to replace the mayor and the sheriff and run that town. Works for me.

They could potentially use this separation as a wonderful opportunity to allow her to come into her own. After all, every one of the town’s past leaders are on the ship in Neverland. Belle has been left in charge of the town.
