I don’t think Regina would need to brainwash Belle into hating Gold. What he did to her was enough for her to not go back to him. I wouldn’t go back to a guy who acted like. He is too erratic and completely flipped out and even though he felt sorry about it afterwards i really think he would do it again. I mean look at what he did to Belle’s father.
I disagree. I think Belle still had feelings for Rumpel when she left his castle. When we see her in the bar in “Dreamy,” she seemed to be genuinely heartbroken and sad about what happened to between her and Rumpel. I honestly think if Rumpel would have given to her and accepted her love, she would have stayed with him willingly, despite everything that happened between them.

I have a theory that True Love was the key ingredient in the curse, not the heart of someone you love. Regina did manage to cast a curse, but maybe it was the wrong curse, or a different curse. Something obviously went wrong because people keep remembering who they are. Even before Emma came into town. The Mad Hatter, Henry, and possibly Belle. I think Regina miscast the curse.
That is a very interesting theory. He could have toyed with her and make her think killing her father was enough to enact the curse.

That’s my thinking as well. Regina has been actvely trying to keep the fairytale couples apart. Mary Margaret and David in particular. So, it makes sense that she would capture and brainwash the true love of her greatest enemy. I think she’s planning to use Belle as a tool to unhinge Mr. Gold. So, we may have to wait a little longer for our reunion. 😥

Exactly. I just don’t believe that Rumpel, being the maniacal evil genius that is, would give up his greatest curse so willingly. I think rober Carlyle said something similar a few weeks ago. He basically suggested that maybe Rumpel made the curse for himself, and not necessarily for evil. So, there’s a strong possibility that Regina has not only cast the wrong curse, but is using incorrectly.
Ot at least that’s what I hope igoing to happen. 😆
March 27, 2012 at 7:15 pm #140009hjbauParticipantReally? I felt like Belle’s final words to Rumpel were disgust and she tried to hurt him. She called him a coward. Something like being left with a chipped cup and an empty heart or something. I don’t remember. I thought Belle was angry when she left the dungeon.

It felt like a mixture of anger, regret and desperation. When Rumpel entered the dungeon, he commanded her to leave. As Belle was leaving the dungeon, she turned around and gave him a piece of he rmind. But the way she said it seemed like she was trying to convince him to open his eyes and shake him up a little bit. And then there’s that scene in the bar where Belle was talking about lost love and how hearbroken she still was. She seemed to be full of conflicting emotions. I guess we’ll have to see.
March 27, 2012 at 7:23 pm #140014hjbauParticipantI agree that Belle seemed conflicted in the bar with Grumpy, but even if that is so i still don’t think she should go back to him. He is just too dangerous. We do need more information though. I am sorry i will try and stay out of this thread.
