So, here’s my thoughts on how Belle and Sneezy will get their memories back in this episode. The fail safe that Regina made is supposed to revert things back to how they were before the curse. I believe that Belle and Sneezy will also be rebooted to their old selves. No need for TLK….every thing will course correct with the activation of the fail safe.

It would be the most logical explanation for how Sneezy gets his memories back. However, I would like for Belle’s memories to return AFTER Rumple has made a great sacrifice, telling Lacey they can’t be together because it only brings out his darkness and how he will fight for being good. Also how he’s willing to die to pay for his sins and so he won’t seek to destroy Henry. Then, just when he’s hit an absolute low, Belle gets her memories back and she help him realize that he does have something to fight for and hopefully he steps in and help save SB.

But like RG said maybe that’s what happens for Sneezy, but Rumple somehow brings Belle back before the fail safe thing happens. Would they get their memories back just by Greg smashing the diamond with the axe? Or would everything revert back only after SB is destroyed? In the promo it looks like Belle and Rumple are crying in his shop, so I’m assuming just smashing the diamond sets things in motion and the actually destruction doesn’t have to happen for their curses to be lifted.

I’m confident it’ll happen just as you wish, RG. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it mirrors Belle’s regaining of her memories in “A Land Without Magic” by having her say “Wait! Rumplestiltskin, wait!” just as a disillusioned Rumple turns his back on her. 🙂

I think it’ll comes as a consequence of Regina and Emma stopping the diamond from destroying Storybrooke. I’ve theorized that, since this is described as a failsafe to the Curse, its deactivation would bring an end to what remains of the Curse in Storybrooke, including the barrier of forgetfulness that surrounds the town limits, reverting the effect it had on Belle and Sneezy.

May 11, 2013 at 11:45 pm #193243RumplesGirlKeymasterI do as well. We know the season is supposed to come full circle, so that would make a lot of sense.

I thought the interview said that Sneezy is, and it opens the door for Belle to maybe get her memories back…which I took to mean she will not be getting them back right away?? I had the idea that it could be left as a mystery as to how Sneezy gets his back, so they are left trying to figure it out to help Belle. Can you imagine Rumple’s reaction to seeing Sneezy recover and not knowing why it happened? Angst Ahoy!!

I think their goal for the end of S2 is to wrap up all the storylines that won’t serve them in S3. So for example, if we are leaving SB (as I strongly suspect) the Curse needs to be “shut down” as it were. The amnesia storylines of Sneezy and Belle need to be resolved so that the focus of S3 can be on NL, Peter Pan, the Home Office and hopefully wrapping up Greg and Tamara.

^This, and I was still worried about them leaving her as Lacey until I saw the promo for this week where she is crying with Rumple – I just really can’t see Lacey being that affected by Rumple’s sadness, I’m pretty convinced she’s Belle in that scene. Plus I forget which interview it was but Bobby or Adam/Eddy said that there will be a happy Rumbelle moment but “how long will it last” – which I now take as she gets her memories back but then SB is about to blow up lol.
May 12, 2013 at 1:03 am #193254jbfrancisParticipantWhile I’m eager to get Belle back, if it happens in tomorrows finale it’s going to feel just too fast to me. Changing her to Lacey and having the opposite effect on Rumple than Belle does is a big step, and I can’t help feeling it should be explored more. Plus, I think it would mean more (although it would be less romantic) if Rumple comes around on his own, without Belle setting him straight. Wow, I kind of hate me for saying that. I love me a co-dependant Rumbelle!! 😕
