I think their goal for the end of S2 is to wrap up all the storylines that won’t serve them in S3. So for example, if we are leaving SB (as I strongly suspect) the Curse needs to be “shut down” as it were. The amnesia storylines of Sneezy and Belle need to be resolved so that the focus of S3 can be on NL, Peter Pan, the Home Office and hopefully wrapping up Greg and Tamara.
Pretty much. It’s what season one’s finale did, with Emma finally believing in magic and breaking the curse, which also resolved the last threads of the Mary Margaret/David/Kathryn “triangle” storyline.

While I’m eager to get Belle back, if it happens in tomorrows finale it’s going to feel just too fast to me. Changing her to Lacey and having the opposite effect on Rumple than Belle does is a big step, and I can’t help feeling it should be explored more. Plus, I think it would mean more (although it would be less romantic) if Rumple comes around on his own, without Belle setting him straight. Wow, I kind of hate me for saying that. I love me a co-dependant Rumbelle!! 😕
I do agree that it’s going to feel fast but I think that has more to do with the pacing of the show. Belle was in the hospital starting episode 12 and didn’t get out until 19. The Cora storyline took over the intervening episodes so they couldn’t trot out Lacey until that was resolved. But, I’d rather just have Belle back at this point. I don’t think Rumple is going to be in a hurry to be any sort of useful until he makes his big sacrifice and then is almost rewarded with the return of Belle.

I think Lacey already did all the damage she could’ve done to Rumple in the last episode. In his desperate attempt to get a TLK from her and restore Belle, he indulged Lacey’s lust for his dark side so much he completely threw in the garbage the small chance to heal his relationship with Bae he got with the events of “The Miller’s Daughter”. It also made him completely oblivious to all that was happening involving Regina, Greg, Tamara, Hook and the beans; in fact, it’s noteworthy that he didn’t even bother to meet fiancée Tamara, for that, knowing Rumple’s exceptional judge of character, could’ve made a world of difference to avoid Neal’s fate.
The Lacey plot, thus, already brought all it could’ve bring to the table to further the storyline. It’s only logical for them to end it in the finale.

Excellent points! And, personally, having her around for much longer will hurt my insides. She was fun(ish) for an episode and now I need her and her dangerous influence/desires to go away.

At first I was one of the ones who wanted Lacey around for awhile to draw out the redemption storyline for Rumple, but now I agree that I want her gone. I don’t think Rumple can be the man I want him to be until he is able to resolve things with both Bae and Belle, and that will take a lot more time. Belle is just as critical as Lacey to that process, but now Rumple has at least had time with Lacey to compare with Belle. Lacey is more like Cora without magic. Someone who urges Rumple toward darkness and is pretty irresistible doing it. For awhile. But Belle is the real deal and I want to see the process of her helping Rumple deal with Bae and just his regular Rumple-ness. There is so much to explore there.

I completely agree, I want to see Belle help Rumple in dealing with his loss of Bae. I also want Belle back because if Rumbelle are joining them on the ship then there are some adventures ahead in season 3 and I want to see Belle in action lol. She was awesome in “The Outsider” and I want to see more of that. And I want to see she and Rumple on an adventure together. And I just want my Rumbelle baaaaack!! *sigh*
May 12, 2013 at 2:39 am #193291KebParticipantRandom thought occurred to me: Before the curse was broken, Emma brought back Graham’s memories by kissing him and some people suggested she should kiss all of Storybrooke. What if she/Henry have the power to bring back Belle and Sneezy and just don’t know it? Maybe not kissing (oh cripes did I just write an Emma/Sneezy ship?) but something they’re capable of because of their relationship to the curse?

Sneezy/Emma = 😆 Could you imagine lol?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Emzy! Emelle/Bemma?
I was under the impression that the reason Emma could bring back Graham was not because it was true love on her part, but rather because she is True Love Incarnate and thus has that ability, so yes. She might be able to kiss Belle and Sneezy back into themselves.

SwanAchoo? You narrowly avoided surplanting SwanQueen with LaceySwan.
I know we want Belle back, but I was curious how Lacey would react to Hook.
