Don’t think that’s what happened, because when Rumple went to the vault, the dagger went with him. I don’t think Emma died. She just became the new Dark One, and the disappearance was for dramatic effect.
But then where did Emma disappear to, according to your theory?
I said disappeared for dramatic effect. Maybe she’ll instantly re-appear at the beginning of Season 5, or they’ll use the dagger to summon her. If she disappeared to a specific location, I have no clue.

I don’t think Emma’s disappearance was just for “dramatic effect” since it paralleled Rumple’s disappearance (minus the dagger) too much to be just a coincidence. And I doubt she just popped in around the corner at Granny’s diner. I think Emma will be somewhere other than Storybrooke, possibly in the EF or perhaps even in Camelot.

Though I understand that the Savior becoming the Dark One is a really big deal, I’m not that impressed. Unlike Rumple who thrived as the Dark One because he controlled his dagger, Emma doesn’t have the dagger. So I don’t envision her independently walking around reeking havoc. The individuals who are present when the dagger appears are her trusted friends and family that can summon her and will probably hand over the dagger to her as they embark on the journey to find Merlin. This does not automatically imply that Emma will viciously use her newfound “darkness” to hurt people but I guess the challenge comes with seeing her struggle to walk the line. After all, this is OUAT so you never know. Next season should be interesting.

For sure. If she was still in Storybrooke they could simply summon her back, defeating the purpose of the whole disappearance.
Sending her off to another realm is good way to set her on a path to darkness, because she won’t have any of her friends and family supporting her.

(Hook will probably wind up in keeping of it at some point. Have fun with your fanfics, CSers, heaven knows the Rumbellers have for years.)

May 12, 2015 at 4:10 pm #304664PriceofMagicParticipantGotta wonder how Hook feels about this right now. After all, he spent over a century wanting to kill the Dark One and searched for methods to do it. Now… his GF is the Dark One.
It’s not so much Hook wanted to kill the dark one, it’s Hook wanted to kill Rumple who happened to be the dark one.
My question is how are they going to handle the Rumple/Hook dynamic now?

Keeper of FelixMay 12, 2015 at 4:13 pm #304666KebParticipantI think Hook is going to have to find a way to work with Rumple because he’s going to need that knowledge fount. Belle’s friendship is probably how he’ll bridge the gap…if he doesn’t go full on villain like Regina did and threaten Belle to get his way. (Yes, that was a villainous move even if it was for heroic purposes against another pair of villains. Regina’s not a perfect, innocent being of heroic light just yet.)

I don’t know, Hook showed bully boy tendencies towards Rumple just the other episode because he knew Rumple couldn’t do anything. Now that Rumple is potentially powerless now, I can just see Hook gloating over the fact.
It would be nice if, after Hook’s experience in the AU, he at least leaves Rumple be rather than antagonising him at every opportunity. Hook’s been on the receiving end of what SpinnerRumple had to deal with so it would show character growth if Hook acknowledges that.

1) Emma’s in Camelot.
2) Henry should take the dagger.
3) We’re going to be world traveling in 5A, a la NL in 3A
