ParticipantBut why would that ever come up? I am trying to understand. He is just going to go by Rumpelstiltskin now isn’t he because everyone has their memories back? There is no Mr. Gold. Right? I mean i doubt Snow is going to continue going by Mary.

ParticipantWell, I would imagine Emma will probably end up calling her Mary Margaret or hopefully Mom before too long.

ParticipantWell i could see that too. I could see Emma not being able to deal with calling her Snow at first, but i think everyone else will call her Snow and she will call herself that. And i am assuming that the characters do have both conflicting memories. I just don’t understand why anyone would still be calling Rumpel, Mr. Gold or why it would be important what his fake first name was especially when it seemed like he just didn’t have one. I mean it even said Mr. Gold on the land contract.

ParticipantI wonder how Pinocchio decided to be called August in the real world. Wouldn’t he have just told them his name was Pinocchio? Or maybe he picked that name later on in his life.

That’s a good burning question- how did Pinocchio come to be called August?

Maybe he and Emma landed in our world in the middle of the month of August. 😀

ParticipantOr when he started to go by August. Maybe in the interests of protecting himself and Emma from ole Queeny, he made up a name from the get go. Also, I can’t imagine anybody believing the kid if he said his real name was Pinocchio. It is also quite possible that August isn’t the name he used in the modern world either; just the one he gave Emma.
I wonder if August was something of a con-artist. Sounded like he had some money to be vacationing and living it up on the other side of the world. I definitely didn’t get the impression he lived an honest life. Then again, maybe he was a writer and he basically wrote new versions of the old fairytales as they really happened… from what little he had learned. (I really doubt this)

ParticipantI don’t think knowing Mr. Gold’s first name has anything to do with having power over him. Its the dagger. It was proven both in FTL and SB if magic came back. Next, Prince James’ real name is James because everyone calls him that and finding out his real name will just be like finding out Gold’s real name.

ParticipantThis one’s been preying on my mind: when was the storybook written?

Participantupdated!
I was rewatching on a European connection and heard MM say that she had given the book to Henry about a month ago. So it isn’t like he had it a long time. I am just wondering how he made all the connections that Emma is SW’s daughter makes sense from the book, but how did he know his mom was Emma, and how did he figure she was SW’s daughter, and how did he connect the dots to figure out that the town, was cursed and his adopting mom, an evil queen, etc.? And why would Regina adopt someone knowing they would grow up while everyone else in town remains in a stasis? I mean it would be rather short-sighted on her part.
