PoM is right. I meant right before the curse when he came from NL and somehow heard about Belle and met Regina, then Cora. Sorry I should have been more specific.
Well I suspect that might be part of the deal he made with Pan. In 304, Hook does say that he got out of NL by making a deal with Pan–so bean, fairy dust, maybe even the shadow? It’s a good question and sadly wasn’t shown.
but I guess the deal would be that Hook does Pan’s dirty work for an extended period of time and then Pan releases him from NL to go kill Rumple. (but we have no idea what the dirty was or how he actually got out)

19 Reasons Hook Is The Best Part Of “Once Upon A Time”

Nothing is impossible on OUAT. Everything has a way of repeating itself. Keeper of the Keeper tread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/official-keeper-thread-3/#post-217924
March 31, 2014 at 10:19 am #257280OnyxParticipantI have this feeling about Hook and I can’t seem to shake it. Ever since the new episodes, I feel a great deal of mistrust towards him. It’s just that whole bird with a message thing. Not knowing/not telling who it was from. How did he escape the new curse? Where was he if not in FTL? And now the hug with Neal, I don’t know… I watched it again just now and it feels very much like a goodbye. As if he’s never gonna see him again and he feels that now is his last chance to make amends or something. And then there’s the lack of development for his character in general. Even Emma noted that he hasn’t changed, which could mean that maybe he’s teaming up again with whoever will get him to his goal the easiest/quickest (like he did with Cora). Not sure exactly what that goal might be though, besides getting back to Emma maybe?
OR, I’m just being paranoid…

March 31, 2014 at 11:02 am #257300OnyxParticipantYeah I suspect that too. Just don’t know how he knew or why he kept it to himself (if my suspicions are true that is).

I think he knew that yes, but I also think Neal knew. When he left the hospital, in so many nice ways (when he said “you’re standing in my way”, and Hook said “I am in your way”), I think that was Neal’s nice way of saying “there’s no stopping me”, and Hook knew that then, and long before they got back to Storybrooke. I think Neal is the “little bird” who gave Hook the message to find Emma (I got that from their private conversation in the hospital), and that Neal knew he was going to die, soon as he learned the cost of bringing his father back.

March 31, 2014 at 12:57 pm #257386Jenna_BParticipantI don’t think there’s any malicious intent on Hook’s part. I think he knows more than he’s told Emma but the hospital scene showed that Neal did too – they were in on the plan together. And if they don’t want to tell Emma about it, for whatever reason, frankly, they can.
I suspect that though they managed to communicate in the EF, the hospital scene was the first time they’ve actually seen each other in the flesh. And I think both of them showed in that scene that they were sorry for the past and were glad they were on the same team. Neal could have chosen to leave Hook out and he’d probably be pretty much ignorant of the new curse – he may have been in the EF but he was likely as far from Snowing’s kongdom as possible. Hook knows Neal would’ve found a way back without Hook, so he’s honored by the inclusion. Hence the hug it out man-style and short exchange. They acknowledged that they switched stereotypes and neither were still completely comfortable with it.

Yeah I thought that too at first, but the way he phrases it doesn’t actually reveal that it was him. So it could still be someone else.
I don’t think there’s any malicious intent on Hook’s part.
No I don’t think that either. I guess I meant why didn’t he share with anyone that Neal was in danger or at least that he had a gut feeling he was in danger.
And I did like that scene between them. I wished they had had a moment like this sooner.

I assume the conversations between the were short – I don’t know that Hook could have known about the whole Neal actually succeeding in rising Rumple-but-now-they-share-a-body? I’m still trying to wrap my head around the whole 2nd part of the episode.
I’m guessing the message was pretty much – this is Neal, Emma’s in danger, go get her and left the details up to Hook, knowing Hook would figure something out?

That’s my guess too & hopefully what we’ll have answered shortly- Exactly how he got that memory potion & how he got back to our world without losing his memories to the WW’s new curse.
