Spoiler TV has revealed a new casting call.
For episode 2×15 of Once Upon a Time, the guest role of Katerina is being cast. She’s 40 years old, regal, beautiful and kind, with a big heart, and loved by her family, which is very close. http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/11/once-upon-time-episode-215-role-of.html
I’m wondering if this could be the casting call for Snow’s mother.

2) Aurora’s mother

Ausiello: Help me solve this latest fairy tale riddle: The show is casting the role of Katerina, a regal beauty in her 40s who possesses elegance, poise and purity of spirit. Thoughts? Theories? Bueller? No? Let’s see what TVLine’s resident OUAT expert Mitovich has dug up: “There is a Princess Katerina who is the Russian version of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ — which I suppose makes sense if Emma & Co. need yet another survivor of a sleeping spell to venture into the netherworld. But if the name is a foiler, this character almost reads like a ‘Glenda the Good Witch’-esque counterpart to Regina, and maybe she figures into someone’s fairytale land backstory.”

Given the information now about Princess Katerina being the Russian version of “Sleeping Beauty”, I think this makes the most sense since Aurora’s mother was also under the Sleeping Curse. I think her name was Briar Rose? Plus, with so much revolving around the conscious/unconscious this season, Katerina being Aurora’s mom fits.

It sort of seems that way, but elsewhere, people who are more familiar than I am with Michael Ausielllo, say that he does this all the time where someone asks him one question about a show, and he just totally disregards it by giving some other information.
It makes me bummed though because out of all the Neal is Baelfire + ______, him being the Wizard of Oz would bother me the least even though I know Oz is a magical place. (Of course, it feels like the Blue Fairy has been wrong about everything she’s ever said now that I’m prepared for her to be wrong about that too.) The biggest problem is that he’s a little bit too young though to be the Wizard and be Neal unless his story is unfinished there, but besides that I think it would be fitting in a way that Bae grew up to be a “wizard” in his own non-magical way.
It would fit in with the green vortex taking him from FTL. fairydust, who I haven’t seen around much had the great evidence about all the radio equipment in Neal’s apartment. Apparently whatever is in the box was red, so it could be the ruby slippers, even though in the book they were silver. Also, I don’t know if this will be Bae’s episode since that might be closer to the end of the season perhaps episode 19 since that was when we learned how he was lost in FTL last season, but I think MRJ should be back by this time since he’s starting to film again in December, and he said he would be the show a lot then so this new character could tie in with him or not.
This quote from Wikipedia about the Wizard stood out to be because of the ball of fire part not necessarily. Plus, out of all the characters so far, Baelfire is the one that we’ve seen the most of at different stages of his life even more so than Emma so far, so I guess that could fit him being in a different form every time he’s seen except that’s probably stretching it. It was more so about the Wizard appearing in the form of a ball of fire than anything else.
On each of these occasions, the Wizard appears in a different form, once as a giant head, once as a beautiful fairy, once as a ball of fire, and once as a horrible monster. When, at last, he grants an audience to all of them at once, he seems to be invisible—nothing but a disembodied voice.
I did read, but I’m not sure how true it is since I only saw it at one place so far that they weren’t going to tackle The Wizard of Oz this season which makes sense in that there’s already so much else going on. However, since the new movie, Oz: The Great and Powerful is also from Disney, I could see it strongly being suggested to K&H that they should find room somehow to work in The Wizard of Oz around the time the movie comes out in order to do cross promotion. Of course, I don’t think they would necessarily make K&H do so, but the movie comes out on March 8, and episode 15 of last year aired on March 11. Of course, this season started out earlier so episode 15 of this year will probably air sometime during February sweeps month and early enough to be part of the advertising blitz for Oz: The Great and the Powerful.
(Also, not that this is really evidence that Bae could be the Wizard of Oz, but I think that James Franco who is playing the Wizard of Oz, with his mustache looks like he could be MRJ’s little brother like in this picture.)
I think Bae will most likely be Bae, but it’s getting very difficult waiting to find out for sure.
ETA: Wrong picture.

Maybe Katrina is both Snow’s and Aurora’s mother. Phee suggested that these princesses might be half-sisters and not even know it.

Yes, that was one of my crackpottier theories. 😆 I’d had that Helena character pegged as being Aurora’s mother though. And this Katerina does sound very much like a potential MamaSnow. The name Katerina means “purity” BTW, which fits with “pure as the driven SNOW”. It’s a Greek name, which incidentally, so is Helena. So I may have to amend my theory a little, and say that perhaps Snow and Aurora are cousins, with their mothers being sisters…perhaps? Of course, Helena could be someone else entirely, and not related at all to the same story. The fact that both names are of Greek origin makes me suspicious though.
The age for Katerina, 40, if she’s Snow’s mother, do we think she would have been 40 when she died, or was lost, or whatever happened to her happened? Dunno why, but I’d always figured she’d have been a bit younger than 40. If we go with the theory of Snow and Aurora having the same mother, if we were to get a flashback to when Aurora was a little girl, then 40 would fit. She could have been “lost” to Snow and Leopold in her 30s, then started her new life and would have another young daughter (Aurora) by the time she was 40.
December 1, 2012 at 10:24 am #163090SlurpeezParticipantNew casting call of Tamara:
The recurring guest role (recurring role according to some sources) of Tamara is being cast. She is described as African American, Late 20s to mid 30s. She’s beautiful, artistic, relaxed, friendly, charming and smart. She’s also ambitious, fearless and a born leader, and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.
http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/11/once-upon-time-episode-215-recurring.htmlShe could be Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
