It sounds like Tiana to me too.

December 1, 2012 at 4:27 pm #163111midnight drearyParticipantHmmm…I’m going to go with Tiana for the time being. But it would be fun to see Nola in her human form.

Spoiler TV has revealed a new casting call.
For episode 2×15 of Once Upon a Time, the guest role of Katerina is being cast. She’s 40 years old, regal, beautiful and kind, with a big heart, and loved by her family, which is very close. http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/11/once-upon-time-episode-215-role-of.html
I’m wondering if this could be the casting call for Snow’s mother.
The name does sound Russian, so I’m leaning towards Aurora’s mother but I still hope we get meet Snow’s mom at some point.

New casting call of Tamara:
The recurring guest role (recurring role according to some sources) of Tamara is being cast. She is described as African American, Late 20s to mid 30s. She’s beautiful, artistic, relaxed, friendly, charming and smart. She’s also ambitious, fearless and a born leader, and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.
http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/11/once-upon-time-episode-215-recurring.htmlShe could be Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
Disney’s Princesses are like the E.U. Everyone is represented (except for the Philippines; Mulan fills in for all Asians), and there’s only one African-American Princess which is Tiana. This has to be her.

The character of Tamara is being cast. She’s female, late 20s to mid 30s. She is a beautiful woman with an artistic funky style. Her demeanor is laid back and friendly – she doesn’t need to try to be cool — she just is. She’s also educated and well spoken, the type of person who holds her own at a local tavern, because she can charm and converse with anyone. But underneath her smiles and sense of ease, is an extremely ambitious woman who wants to see her personal agendas through. Tamara has the capability and fearlessness of a born leader – and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants. No matter what it takes. She’s a recurring guest star for the remainder of season 2 with an option for season 3. http://once.wikia.com/wiki/2×15#Spoilers

Tamara is a female given name most commonly derived from the Biblical name “Tamar”, meaning palm tree.
In England, Tamara is the goddess of rivers and streams. The River Tamar which forms the border between Devon and Cornwall derives its name from this spirit.Maybe she’s the long expected mermaid, goes well with working at a tavern serving drinks 😀

Especially now with the additional info of her having “an artistic funky style” and “she doesn’t need to try to be cool — she just is”, which suggest they’ve taken inspiration for her from where Disney’s Tiana lived, in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Also, “the type of person who holds her own at a local tavern,” could tie in with Disney’s Tiana having been a waitress.

January 3, 2013 at 2:56 am #166818toomanyshipsParticipantMaybe Lesley Nicol (who plays Mrs. Patmore on Downton Abbey) will be playing the role of the servant who is very close to the family she works for. She was cast, but they didn’t announce who she would be playing. The actress is 39 years old.

EDIT I realized that she’ll probably play the servant character, on the other “casting call” notice on this episode’s board.
