Me either. I think Jack may have had something to do with Alice’s death if anything. Maybe she and Alice went to Wonderland together to slay the Jabberwock and once Alice had killed it, Jack turned on her, wanting the glory for herself.

It would be interesting to see Jefferson (*sigh* though probably not Sebastian Stan) and Alice together in the flashbacks. Many have speculated that he and Alice were married. And maybe we’d finally learn how he lost her to his job.
Firstly: WAAAAHHHH, don’t leave, Sebastian! 😥
Secondly: Many have speculated that Alice was Jefferson’s wife. I’ve never personally subscribed to that theory, just because I’ve concocted the scenario in my head where the now Mad Hatter is having his famous never ending tea party to make up for the tea party he told Grace they’d have when he got back from the job for Regina, which he now can’t get back from. And I want Alice to come along to the tea party and remind him of Grace, because it’d be so deliciously angsty.I’ll bet the story about how he lost his wife will be in the spinoff show, because they know it’d suck the Once watchers in, because it’s a story we all really wanna see. Wouldn’t put it past them to have his wife be a major character in that show, and not kill her off right away, instead show how happy Jefferson was, how he and his wife lived together, maybe even worked together, show the birth of Grace, and only after that, show how he lost her, and why he quit his job. Gotta admit, that would probably make me watch it, even though I’m not thrilled about the whole spinoff idea.
At any rate, I maintain that the end of two will be the entire town leaving for FTL because they have no choice, I think Greg or HER will have alerted the media and the news vans will start rolling in. It also makes me wonder with huge episodes like The Miller’s Daughter coming up, what else will his video phone capture? Perhaps Cora and Regina doing some SERIOUS magic? He needs more than just that video he shot in Manhattan. Once the SBers learn their lives and identities are in danger, they’ll have to leave.
I don’t have any hard and fast theories about the finale as of yet, but I’ve seen that idea pop up a couple of times. I’m not sold on it yet, just because I don’t believe that Greg is hanging around with the purpose of exposing them, I think he went there for his own personal reasons, and I think Her is in on that, so she wouldn’t let the video he sent get out there for public consumption. Of course, if someone happens to find it on her phone and they make it public, then exposure to the real world could still happen, and more outsiders could roll in. And maybe I’m completely wrong about Greg just being on a personal mission, and he does want to expose SB. We shall see, I suppose.
And who else knows realm jumping better than Jefferson. (But will they land in FTL, that’s another question. I think they’ll land in Neverland and S3 will focus on that realm).
I do love the idea of them accidentally landing somewhere other than FTL. Question is, how would they get there so soon? They’ve got the beanstalk cutting, but that won’t grow quick enough to give them beans by season’s end. Emma’s hat is still lying around somewhere, so I guess they could bring Jefferson back in if Emma remembers the hat and wants to see if they can get it working. I’d imagined that whenever they all leave SB, they’ll leave on Hook’s ship, which we know would work with a bean portal, but would it work with a hat portal? Or will another realm jumping option come to light before the finale?

I was listening to the Roundtable Once hosted last Wednesday and I think it was Daniel who proposed that given Greg Mendell’s name (father of Genetics, Gregor Mendal who worked with beans) he might be able to do something to get them to grow faster. Cora had to have a plan with those beans, that’s why she brought Anton to SB. That really needs to be explained. If they use Emma’s hat, they’d go the Door Room, and maybe the door to FTL has been destroyed because of the curse, so they have to go to another world first, using “back roads” as it were to get home to FTL. Be a great opportunity to see some other worlds: Neverland, Oz, Agrabah.

Maybe they couldn’t come up with the PC term for a Brit of African descent? Or the character needs to be capable of faking the accent…
I never really think of Wendy as being mischievous – Naive and compassionate yes (and a natural maternal/ care taker). My mind goes to Alice for this role. As much as I was expecting Alice to be Grace’s mom this sounds like Alice’s description so far.
But, age wise, I’d say it’s more likely Wendy. Alice was 7 and 7 1/2 during her times in Wonderland. Clearly, they could age her up in this show…but Wendy was facing growing up, moving out of the Nursery: most media seem to have Wendy being 12 to 13. I guess tomorrow we’ll know how truthful the ‘not seeing Peter Pan’ this season was. If Nealfire is the Peter Pan – and not just a Lost Boy – I’d wager this is Wendy and we’ll be getting an adventurer Wendy/Peter backstory. They’re going to have to do the Dylan Schmid/ Bae backstory soon before he grows too much! 😆

Ironically, Alice and Wendy are both voiced by the same actress (Kathryn Beaumont) in the Disney films. Still going with Alice based on both the description and the fact that the name “Heidi” has the exact same meaning as the name Alice.

For Once Upon a Time episode 2.21, the role of Heidi is being cast. She’s 13, British, and also described as being compassionate, mischievous, and somewhat naive about how dangerous the world can be.
Could it possibly be Tinkerbell in human form?
13-She hung around Peter pan and the Lost Boys which suggests there is a childlike quality about her.
British-Peter and Tinkerbell flew to London to retrieve Wendy and her brothers and take them back home.
Compassionate- In the film Hook, it was Tinkerbell who took a baby Peter Pan to neverland. To get to neverland you need “Faith, trust and Pixie Dust”. Maybe Tinkerbell helped the lost boys get to neverland too? She also drank poison for Peter Pan to save him.
Mischievous- Tinkerbell really didn’t like Wendy and tricked the lost boys into shooting her by telling them Wendy was a bird.
Naive- Tinkerbell believed Hook and showed him the way to Peter Pan’s hideout when Hook told her he wanted to get Wendy out of neverland. All magic comes with a price!

Yes, I’ve liked the theory about Gregor Mendel’s work with peas being a hint that Greg will help with the beanstalk. Still not sure they could speed it up that much with the time they have left in the season though. They’d have to do some very rapid character development for him, and have him win everyone over so they trusted him enough to let him help them, and then they’d have to turn what’s usually a 100 year process of growing a beanstalk to maturity into something that’ll only take, what, about a month, (we may have to wait for ages for eps, but not that much time has passed in SB since the curse broke, so I don’t imagine much more will pass by season’s end). But if they all vacate town by some other means, then Anton’s precious beanstalk cutting has gone to waste, which would be sad. Unless it gets left behind, (which would be a stupid thing for the SBers to do), and some real world person ends up with magic beans in their possession when they find it.
I love the idea of the FTL door in the hat being destroyed due to the curse and them having to take a detour through other lands. That would be fun! If they go the route of the hat, there are very few people in SB who know it exists: Jefferson, Emma and Snow. The girls aren’t fussed on going back to FTL, so I can’t see them volunteering the information if it springs to mind. Jefferson wasn’t too interested in helping everyone out, judging by what we’ve seen of him this season. I guess he may have a change of heart though, if he’s decided he wants to take his daughter and get outta town.
I kinda hope that even if some people leave, not everyone does. I’d be sad if we didn’t get to see SB any more in future seasons.

Her casting call didn’t mention a Brit accent, (Lancelot’s did mention both African American and British accent though), but there’s an article somewhere claiming that they originally wanted someone with the accent.

They certainly need to get cracking if they want to show us more of young Bae, especially if he’s gonna be in Neverland where he wasn’t supposed to be aging. 😆 I wonder if this could also explain why they may want to cast Alice a bit older though, especially if they anticipate wanting to use her over a period of time in the spinoff if it takes off. If they cast her a bit older, then perhaps the age difference may not be as obvious when they want to use her again in the future?
March 3, 2013 at 2:04 pm #176356RumplesGirlKeymasterIsn’t Alice older than 7 in the Disney film though? At least 13 or 14? That’s at least a precedent for making Alice older on Once.

Yeah, she’s clearly at least in her tween years.
