I wonder how they are going to play around with the mermaid aspect of Ariel. In Disney the little mermaid, the mermaids were fairly people friendly though tried to avoid humans, and in Disney Peter Pan, they were jealous of Wendy and were “only trying to drown her” though weren’t exactly killers. In 2003 movie Peter Pan, the mermaids murderous nature was more empahsised as Peter told Wendy when she called the mermaids “sweet” that “they’ll sweetly drown you”. In Pirates of the Caribbean, the mermaids were well known for devouring sailors.
Considering this is supposed to be a family show, will they show murderous mermaids and have Ariel not wanting to follow her species nature?

I could see that happening. Ariel’s father was opposed to humans because he perceived them as dangerous and her sisters were rather petty. Ariel might be the exception, and by falling in love with a human, she then bridges the underwater world with the human world.

April 8, 2013 at 5:07 pm #185026HappyEndingsSpectatorSo Ariel was already casted in Season 1, and that is why no casting call correct ❓
Question: If we don’t have Bae as Peter Pan, then why do we need a Wendy ❓
Question: The three boys who are casted are we still assuming they are the Lost Boys or what ❓

Maybe she was cast back then, but I think they don’t have to do a casting call if they have someone in mind for a part (like Rose McGowan for Young Cora). Maybe she’s someone they tried out for some other role and liked, and “saved” her to be cast for this part. That kind of thing happens too.
Regardless of whether Bae is Peter Pan, the character could come in later next season. Plus, it’s the ONCE way to want to explore characters in different contexts than their original tales. So even without Peter, they may have something in mind for Wendy that defines her place in the story.
For example, what if Wendy rather than Peter is the major antagonist in Neverland? So Hook would be the protagonist, who takes Bae under his wing as a pirate, and either Bae is Peter or there is another Peter, but it is Wendy who is up to no good (for the residents of Neverland…I’m not picturing her as full out evil, but she could want something that other Neverland people don’t, like having time start again there).
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
April 8, 2013 at 7:28 pm #185051RumplesGirlKeymasterI think they kept the casting call for whatever role Freya Tingley is going to play a secret because it’s going to be huge and they don’t want it to get spoiled. I also think she’s been working mostly on green screen at the moment which is why we haven’t seen any pics of her or Lanie MacNeil, even though we know they both appear at some point in the final two episodes.
Even if Bae isn’t Peter Pan, someone is going to be Peter and thus we need a Wendy figure.

Maybe Neal gets captured by the Lost Boys and they take him to their leader. Although we don’t see the leader, you have season 2 end with Neal saying “Hello Peter” or perhaps the Lost Boys take Neal to Wendy and she is the one who says “Hello Peter”

Ooooh. I like both of those. Neal has been absent from all the photos we’ve seen thus far except for w/ MAP. I think Peter will definitely be alluded to by the final scene of the season.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 8, 2013 at 9:34 pm #185105HappyEndingsSpectator15 Peter names that mean peter for girls, listing Peter baby names 1-15. Barrie, Bernadette, Candida, Petra, Roberta, Tabitha and Wendy are popular names

Robert mentioned that the show has been hinting that we’ll see Peter Pan soon, and noted that he’d “love” for that to happen. Then he dished this intriguing bit of info: “What I hear through the grapevine is that if that happens it’s going to be a kid that plays [Peter Pan]. So it’s not going to be an older character. We’re thinking about a 12 or 13-year-old to play it. I’ve never really seen that before and it would be interesting.”That is interesting — not just because it would be cool to see a young kid go up against the grown Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), but because it suggests that Nealfire isn’t the same character as Peter Pan … unless The Powers That Be are talking about casting a young version of the character for flashbacks. But it doesn’t sound like that’s what Robert meant.
For Once Upon a Time episode 2.21, the role of Heidi is being cast. She’s 13, British, and also described as being compassionate, mischievous, and somewhat naive about how dangerous the world can be
So is this Wendy/Peter Pan ❓
April 8, 2013 at 9:39 pm #185106RumplesGirlKeymasterI maintain that Heidi is Wendy, but I don’t think she’s also Peter Pan. I really don’t think we’ll meet him this season if it turns out that Neal isn’t Pan.
