In “The Thing You Love Most” we saw the persons who gave Regina a lock of their hair. So she was able to enact the curse.
All the time I’m asking myself who these characters are and from which fairytale they come from. So I rewatched the episode and made three screenshoots and numbered the six unknown persons:

    1. A warrior with an axe. He looks like he is a viking(or a warrior from the north)
    2. The Blind Witch
    3. The Ogre
    4. The Gnome
    5. A warrior with a spear and a red helmet (Looks like the devil)
    6. A dark skinned young woman with a staff (Maybe a dark fairy?)

We know that the gnome became a garden gnome and the Blind Witch is Miss Ginger in Storybrooke. But not more.
Well I read that theory that the gnome can possible be the villain form Snow White and Rose Red. But for the blind witch I have totally no idea who she is. I didn’t find any story in which there is a blind witch or a witch who loses both eyes.

But first time I saw this episode I thought I would recognize one of them (5) as a fairytale character I know. I saw him and said: “That must be the devil with the three golden Hairs!” After a closer look today I realized that just his armor/helm let him look like the devil but I still believe that he is him. He could be a warrior who is known as The Devil and like in his original fairytale someone need a locke of his hair.

Also the big one (3) do we know as an ogre. I don’t think that he is just a normal ogre like that one who attacked Emma, He wears more clothe, has hair and a lot of bumps on his head. I think he is a special villain from a story and think he is the villain from Hop-o’-My-Thumb. (Link:http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?author=mulock&book=fairy&story=thumb). I know that theory is a little bit vage. But I don’t know any other story where a ogre is the main antagonist. Also in this story the ogre is some kind of cannibal who likes eating children, and when I look at this picture of him: (http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMjAxMTUzMjIxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTc4MDk5Ng@@._V1._SX346_SY518_.jpg)
His teeth reminds me on a cannibal or child-eating monster.^^

I don’t know this are my ideas about this characters. I wonder if they will become more important in the story of the show or if they was just there to show that FTL had also other villains from other storys/minor fairytales.

Great post! I really love your catch on the devil-like character. Very interesting fairy-tale there, and could definitely work.

I think #6 might be Sycorax from The Tempest and, possibly, a composite character with Morgana from TLM2.

    5. A warrior with a spear and a red helmet (Looks like the devil)

I’m gonna go with Loki on this, perhaps.

One theory I’ve seen is the Horned King.

The concept of needing the hair of those with the darkest souls in the realm is such a missed opportunity.

Not only are these people relatively unknown figures, we never get an explanation of who they are or what makes them qualified to be the darkest souls. Especially considering that OUAT has a ton of great villains who would better be standing up there to offer up their hair.

It would have been nice if, for example, we would have seen Regina taking the hair by force from all the other villains we know or would come to know. She would have to make a deal to get a lock from Rumpel. After her duel with Maleficent, she would snatch a lock of hair. In season 2, we would see her get a lock from Cora’s body (whom she thought was dead at the time) after sending hook to kill her. She could have told Hansel and Gretel to get a lock from the blind witch.

Like, this could have been done better.
