ParticipantWhen Cora’s spirit makes contact… Do you all think she will be nice and willing to help? Or do you think she will be wicked and angry? I’m a bit in the middle.
On one hand, Cora has her heart and in her final moments she seemed happy and loving toward Regina and sorry for the way she treated her. So perhaps she would be eager and willing to help them stop Zelena as an act of goodness.
On the other hand, the promo seems to indicate Cora is less than friendly… Plus she could be angry at Snow for being the one responsible for her death and doesn’t want them yo succeed… She could want them all to join her in death >:) idk. What do u all think?

ParticipantCora the friendly ghost. I am still laughing. She will be more like our Peeves-Casper.

ParticipantI think Cora wants to help Regina. After all she wanted Regina to get everything and be happy…(that her methods were horrible and that it never works this way is another problem). Maybe another motive for her to help could be to free Rumple!

Whats a Peeves-Casper???

ParticipantI would love Cora the friendly ghost. I’d like Cora not to have a voice, or even a body, but to be a peculiar spooky presence.
I would love it if after they’ve summoned the spirit of Cora, and put the candle away, spooky things begin to happen.
I’d love Cora’s essence to scare the bejeebers out of Zelena, creep her out a bit, like she creeps us. Like, doors suddenly slam closed, candles flicker and die. Whisks of air brush across Zelena’s neck, an we all speculate whether it’s Cora or coincidence.
Whenever Zelena smirks her smirky smile, I’d love to feel the presence of Cora somehow dimming that green grin. But, I’d like her to bring clues to Regina. Reveal things to Regina, open doors for her, give her signs, which will help her defeat the ding dong, wicked witch.
So, yeah, I’d love a Cora the friendly ghost story.

ParticipantDefinitely was Cora the unfriendly Ghost. The real question for me is this…IS SHE REALLY DEAD? In the Hat Trick we know that Barbara Hershey did not play the Queen of Hearts. Many thought this was not a deal breaker because the Queen of Hearts stays behind a mask the entire time. What if this casting was purposeful….and in hind sight we will see that a different actress played Cora because Cora was not the one sitting the Queen chair in Wonderland at the time. Remember the game, “Follow the Lady”. The lady in the card game is the Queen of Hearts. Sleight of hand is the name of the day.
Some supporting evidence.
One episode of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is titled, “To Catch a Thief.” In the movie there is a big con played with a big, secret switch of identities using a costume with a mask.
Cora can shape shift…she could be anyone at anytime…except (most likely) when there was not magic in Storybrook. Cora could be “Dorothy” and have gotten the silver slippers. She could have found one of many ways to jump realms. I don’t think Cora is fully dead. The candle that was used to kill her was her own magic, not to mention that she used shape-shifting Blue Fairy to get it into Snow’s hands to begin with. Peter Pan’s own magic cuffs didn’t work on him. How do we know Cora’s magic candle actually killed her. She could have faked her own death. She did it before. I think the reason that she was not speaking through the seance portal is that she is not actually dead….she’s not really most sincerely dead. 🙂
Cora can see across realms through her mirror. If she was able to get the silver slippers or beans or whatever she could be anywhere at any time. Have you noticed how various characters will look “off” sometimes. Rumple is SO RED when he goes to the land without color. Maybe it isn’t Rumple…maybe it is Cora shape shifting as Rumple…or if not shape shifting then possessing him somehow. There are other instances of color “bleeding through” characters.
Cora shows up in Wonderland…specifically breaks up Will and Anastasia…and then teaches Anastasia…not like Rumple teaches but in a more powerful way. Bam! She creates a powerful magic in the Red Queen and she does it quickly. Why???? There is an agenda there. It is obvious and it is unresolved. I don’t think Cora is dead. Either she is shape shifting or she is half dead and is possessing…a soul that is host jumping.
My favorite scene in all of OUaT is in this episode. It is when Regina puts her hand across Snow’s belly to protect her from Cora. I’ve gone out on a limb in other posts and said that I think Regina is Snow’s biological mother (forgotten/wiped) memories but even if she isn’t…the maternal love that she shows at that moment is amazing. It is my absolute favorite scene in the entire three seasons.

Actually Barbara did play the queen in that episode. She even did the whispers when the queen spoke through that little horn thing 😛 Also, my thing with Anna and Cora was that I think Cora wanted her daughter and she wanted her daughter to be OBEDIENT. Regina wasn’t. So when Regina put her in Wonderland, she found a replacement. I think Cora and Ana grew very close through their magic lessons (considering Cora didn’t kill her for her half of Wonderland) so I’m very interested in seeing if they both will appear in OUAT during S4

ParticipantI’m having a little computer trouble tonight so I’m not sure if my other post went through. I went and double checked the credits listed at the end of the Hat Trick episode and they have Jennifer Koenig listed as playing the Queen of Hearts. I did find an article where the writers said that Barbara Hershey voiced the Queen of Hearts….and that hug that she gives Anastasia after Anna wields the fire magic…her face looks sober and determined…not motherly.

ParticipantWhat if Cora magically changed the woman’s voice to match hers. I think that it is at least a possibility. One thing Regina said about her mom, “What can’t she do!”

ParticipantI think they just used a stand in for Barbara Hearshey and dubbed Barbara’s voice over as the QoH. They used a stand in for Jamie Chung as Mulan when MAP found Neal on the beach in EF so unless Mulan suddenly is able to do as you’re suggesting Cora did, then there is nothing more to the QOH stand in than just being a stand in.
As for Cora’s ghost, I don’t think she necessarily had any ill intent to harm Snow, we assume she did because that’s what Regina assumed. Cora’s ghost couldn’t speak and therefore had trouble communicating. That is an incredibly frustrating situation even in real life. Cora wasn’t being seemingly violent just for the fun of it, she was getting increasingly frustrated. Think about it from Cora’s point of view:
1.She’s pulled out of the afterlife by Regina and Company
2. She can’t speak but keeps being asked “What did you do to Zelena?”
3. The only way she can “say” what happened is to go inside Snow and show her, however, Regina keeps getting in the way and asking her the question that she is trying to tell the answer to.
4. When she finally gets to show Snow the answer, Regina interrupts and sends Cora back to the afterlife.Cora threw Regina across the room, not just for the sake of it, but because Regina kept getting in the way and wouldn’t let Cora answer the question that she’d pulled Cora out of the afterlife to answer. Cora was frustrated with Regina.
All magic comes with a price!
