So I’m going as the evil queen for halloween, and I was wondering if anyone could give me costume advice?

I have a black cloak, and I’d really like to put a big collar on it like in the Disney movie, but I have absolutely no idea how I would do that.

Also I’m unsure how to do my hair. I’ve never been particularly good with fancy hair styles, so it can’t be anything too complicated, but I also want it to really scream “Evil Queen” so you see my problem? If it makes any difference, I have really long hair, like 26 inches last time I measured. Also, it doesn’t curl well.

Any help that anyone could give me would be REALLY appreciated!

Scroll down to the last post in this thread, and someone has step by step instructions including pictures, of how they added a big collar onto a cape: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=319658.0#axzz2fPQbMcEt

As for hair styles, I’m completely hopeless with hair. Cos players sometimes use wigs though, and just style that up, instead of using their actual hair. Would be much easier to mess around with the design and get it right than trying to get your own hair to look right.

I’m working on a Regina costume myself and I’m definitely using a wig. I’ll be starting with a shorter wig and using wig wefts to sort of create an updo, likely by sewing them onto the shorter wig. That hair is tricky!

My fabric just came in today, I’m psyched to start!
