I could be wrong, but I thought child actors worked under 1 year contracts maximumum. Meaning, their contracts cannot be for more than one year, but can be renewed yearly.
I guess that makes more sense. Kids lives tend to be more in flux than adults. Parents may want them to make a change.
With that said, though, is it really a step in up in career to go from regular status on ABC to reoccurring status on Fox? (I’m not an actor in anyway so I really have no idea)

If he gets a larger role than he has had on OUAT, one that appeals to him personally, then he may want to do it. OUAT can cover a lot by saying Henry is t school or something, or perhaps GG will also want to scale back her time as she’s pregnant–so “Oh Henry and SNow are at Grannys!” something like that. Then there’s this, they have some cute tyke factor ready to go if they use that Roland kid more if that’s what they want to do and Gilmore was already in the transition to tween rather than just cute moppet.
Still I don’t think he’s looking to hop shows right now, as they’ve given him some great material lately (getting to be Pan! playing a new more NYC version of Henry?).

Just found this and it looks like it will be a regular and not a recurring role. As well, money does talk so it would depend on the offer. Not saying that Jared has been offered the role, but it seems that Korey Hunt seems to think Jared would be a perfect fit.

I’ve been back and forth on whether I think he’s a legit candidate, but I reckon at the moment they have some potential for great story line for Henry.
We now know he doesn’t get his memories back as quickly as Emma, so however long that takes, and how he interacts with his parents through that process could have a lasting impact on the character and allow for further development in S4. If he’s gonna have some magical powers of his own, maybe they’ll kick in when he hits puberty and we can see how he handles having power and how all the adults in his life deal with that and how they teach and guide him through it, and does he have the potential to go dark? And very recently I got it into my head that there’s method to the madness of the family tree and they’re giving Henry familial connections to all these lands for some specific purpose that’s gonna have a big payoff for his own personal destiny.
So I can imagine good reasons why they might want to keep him around, and the flipside of killing him off would just be completely depressing. Of course, I might be way off the mark with all of it, but having thought about the potential there could be for him, he’s not at the top of my suspect list.
February 27, 2014 at 12:58 pm #248437TheGoldenKeyParticipantI agree Phee. There’s so much they can do with Henry’s storyline, but it’s news and he was mentioned so there’s always that possibility and thought it was worth sharing. Besides, it’s Batman! 😉

Remember Rose McTiver did say that it was someone we wouldn’t expect, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s Henry who is dying so that Jared can do Gotham.February 28, 2014 at 12:34 am #248607HappyEndingsSpectatorWhy would Jared leave a Season TV show where he stars in it almost every episodes vs Batman that may or may not make it. So what if he plays a young Bruce there has been so many shows already about Batman and his past that I really doubt if this show would even survive in my opinion. Besides he would be basically a guest, if anything he could do both. But I seriously doubt if Henry/Jared would leave Once they made him a star and they are set to start Season 4 vs a new show that may or may not make it.

February 28, 2014 at 12:47 am #248609SlurpeezParticipantKilling off “the kid” is not the way a family show does things. Henry is central to Emma, Regina and Neal’s happiness as parents. The end of Henry’s life would signal the end of Regina and Emma’s happy endings. We saw how devastating it was for Emma and Regina in 1×22 and again in 3×9 when they thought Henry had died. I think that would be the most depressing outcome imaginable on a show where hope is meant to be at the core.

If you look at my second spoiler link, on page 2, you’ll see that the role is a regular role not a recurring role or a guest role. 🙂
Slurpeez, the show is rated PG & not G. They killed Felix, they showed a dark and disturbed Pan and they’ve shown Henry at death’s door in S1 and again in the first half of S3. I don’t think they’d have an issue killing off Henry if they thought it would fit the story line. Not saying they are going to, just playing devil’s advocate here. Personally, I agree with you about it being such a loss of hope if Henry were to die. However, sometimes real life has a habit of stepping into our fantasy worlds. Maybe Korey Hunt said : “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.” 😉
