Ohh…good point.
😮
[adrotate group="5"]June 9, 2012 at 4:45 pm #148518theladybelleParticipantI could be wrong, but isn’t Jefferson also the only one who calls her Regina and not Your Majesty in FTL? It would suggest that he’s more than just someone who works for her.
But if Jefferson is the first born Cora gave up, he’d have to be Henry Senior’s son too if you follow the original story, right? And I don’t really see that being the case when I look at the scene in Wonderland. Unless Jefferson and Regina don’t know that they are brother and sister, then it could work. We don’t know the Once-edition of that story, and maybe it’ll be nothing like the original. Maybe Cora already had Jefferson from a previous relationship and had to give him up to Rumple in order to get out of poverty or something.
June 9, 2012 at 4:56 pm #148520PriceofMagicParticipantHe referred to her as “the queen” in wonderland and was very quickly informed that the queen of hearts is the only queen and nobody else or something to that effect.
I don’t think him and Regina are siblings. Her speech of “you don’t leave family” or whatever the exact words she used would be highly hypocritical if he was her brother and she abondoned him. I think their relationship is purely a professional one.

He does call her Regina.
June 9, 2012 at 5:23 pm #148523PriceofMagicParticipantThanks for the link. I still get the feeling it is more a professional relationship than a sibling one. Jefferson would be a useful ally for Regina to have what with him being able to go between worlds. It wouldn’t be a stretch for Regina to ask him to call her by her fast name when they first met in order to seem more friendly than she is. My guess is Jefferson used to offer his services for hire and Regina was one of his clients. Maybe their first meeting went somewhere along the lines of:
Jefferson: You sent for me, your majesty.
Regina: Yes, I require someone in your line of work to do a little errand for me. You’ll be well rewarded of course and please, call me Regina. I wouldn’t want formalities to get in the way of what could be a good working partnership.
It just doesn’t seem like a sibling relationship.

Keeper of FelixJune 9, 2012 at 5:30 pm #148524theladybelleParticipantI also don’t think it’s likely that they are siblings, if I have to be honest. It would be a little… odd if they actually were. I still like the idea, and I wouldn’t mind it if they actually were siblings.
June 10, 2012 at 1:19 am #148535hjbauParticipantIt would seem bizarre to me that Regina would tell anyone they could call her by her first name unless they were family. Or arch nemesis like Snow. Or another ruler like King George.
September 21, 2012 at 5:21 am #154206faux paxParticipantInteresting point about the first name thing.
But the Facebook app just proved that Jefferson couldn’t be older than Regina. He’s only 29 and i’m sure she is older by at least a few years, but maybe the deal with Cora was made after she was born so Cora had to give up her second born?
December 20, 2012 at 12:12 am #165504luciaquinParticipantGuys, Jefferson isn’t the baby given away by Cora because Cora never gave away any baby. If you read the story of the Miller’s Daughter closely you’ll see how she guessed Rumpelstiltskin’s name, so she got to keep her newborn.
Now, we know that Cora only had one child (from what we’ve seen so far in the show) so Regina would be the baby promised to Rumpel that Cora got to keep since she guessed his name.
Other facts that indicate this premise to be true is that when Rumpel is summoned by Regina he tells her that he has known her for a long time, and that by that time she was more portable (he also makes a gesture with his hands that make it seem as if he is holding a baby). So why would Rumpel know Regina as a baby if she wasn’t the baby that was supposed to be his?
Another fact that supports this theory is on ep 2×08 when Regina goes to Granny’s diner to ask Rumpel for help to defeat her mother. There he says “I won in the end”, to which Regina answers “That’s not how she tells the story”, which be a reference of Cora guessing his name (that’s why she says she wins) and of Rumpel turning Regina into his apprentice (why he says he won, because he turned her agaisnt Cora)December 21, 2012 at 2:09 am #165652arwenreneeParticipantI posted this in another discussion and it was not popular at all but would like to know what you guys think.
I thought when I watched Hat Trick that Jeffersons wife was Alice and Grace is their daughter. I also think that Jefferson and Ragina are brother/sister even twins Rumple got Jefferson after Cora guessed his name because she made a deal for him to teach her magic for one of the babies. Don’t think at the time of “The Dr.” They new this but between then and “Hat Trick” they find out Ragina wants Jefferson to take his place beside her taking revenge on Snow, Rumple and who knows who else. But Jefferson has already meet Alice and chooses to stay with her and Grace, so Ragina kills Alice, because Jefferson is abandoning her hence the comment you don’t abandon family. I can’t wait to see more of Jeffersons back story we need to find out what Rumple did with baby Jefferson. 😀
