ParticipantI think the mystery of who “Owen” is could be resolved.
Actress Lana Parrilla and her young co-star, Benjamin Stockham, were seen taking a lunch break on the set of “Once Upon a Time” in Vancouver, Canada on February 1, 2013. Source: http://storybrooke.net/photos/thumbnails.php?album=293
IMO, the little boy looks a lot like a young HENRY. Could “Owen” be a young Henry in SB? Does he even have a FTL counter-part? ❓
Plus there was these spoiler tweets the other day of filming on set:
Ben and Jared look a lot a like, except for the eye color. I could see Ben as a younger version of Henry Mills.

ParticipantBen and Jared are both 12, so unless Ben looks really young for his age, that’s not really an option. Interesting that he was shooting in SB though. Guess we can scrap all the theories about him being a Young[insertnamehere].
Perhaps this kid in some way influences Regina to adopt Henry?

Hmmm, excellent point you raise there. Ben does look a bit young for his age compared to Jared, but you’re probably right in saying he’s a different kid. If Adam and Eddy hadn’t already ruled it out, I’d speculate that “Owen” were Peter Pan come to SB. Perhaps he’s a lost boy or some other kid, who like you said, inspired Regina to adopt.

ParticipantIf he is in SB with Regina then I think it would stand to reason that he must have lost his mom right before the curse was cast since his dad is supposedly comforting him over his mom…like Cinderella was pregnant for 28 years… I would think his dad would have to be doing this for 28 years….unless we are about to find out that they are outsiders and came to Storybrook and like Phee said inspired Regina to adopt a son.
Who knows…if they were outsiders that came and went we might be seeing this kid as an adult further down the line in Storybrook again. If I wasn’t so convinced that Neal was Bae (plus MRJ does not have blue eyes either) I would say they could have made him a young Neal…but I really do think he is Bae at this point. I guess Greg could always be an option.
ETA: okay after realizing that the title is Welcome to Storybrook(at this point I can’t keep any of this straight lol) I am leaning toward Ben and Owen being outsiders that enter Storybrook. Welcome to Storybrook could have the beginning of the curse…Owen and Ben coming to Storybrook…and Greg checking out Storybrook (since he’s already arrived) as parallels. (with Owen and Ben being within the Storybrook flashback part).

Hasn’t anybody thought this could be a young Greg? The title is Welcome to Storybrooke , he just got there. Ben (obi wan) (Owen (Lars , Luke’s adopted father) clearly shout outs to Star Wars which is the ringtone on Greg’s Phone!
I actually did a few days ago in the Episode Title thread for “Welcome to Storybrooke”. Good catches to “Star Wars”, and I like the fact that he may have inspired Regina to adopt Henry. I know that she wanted kids for awhile because of “True North”, but it did seem like she waited a long time from when she first arrived in our world to when she adopted Henry to actually adopt a child. I don’t know if it’s because Henry was the only child that she could adopt because of having two magical parents or having the Savior as a biological mom, or if she was content with Owen/Greg until something happened.
New theory about Owen/Ben. Owen could be a young Greg. Benjamin Stockham looks enough like Ethan Embry with the blue eyes that it can work, and since we’re going back to 1983, it’s definitely plausible that Greg was 10 years old at that time since I don’t think this show takes place exactly in 2013 but a little bit before that I believe. Plus, Embry will be 36 this year even if he looks younger, so he’s in the right age range for someone who would be in their late 30s to early 40s on the show.
I don’t know how his father will fit in, but I think that when Storybrooke appeared, Greg and/or his father lived nearby, and either both of them or just one of them realized that something was going on. Then, I think that Henry’s book came out of the discovery of Storybrooke, which would fit The Golden Key’s theory that Greg is the author of Henry’s book. (Although in my theory it could either be Greg or his dad that is responsible, or maybe they even co-wrote it.)
While I’m not sure about all of The Golden Key’s reasons of why Greg is the author of Henry’s book, I do think that since they’re suppose to answer the question on who the author is this season and how it got to Storybrooke, that it makes the most sense out of all the characters that are on OUaT now and have been featured or are going to be featured in the latter half of the season, that Greg makes the most sense. While it could still be the Blue Fairy, assuming that it’s not a totally new character, since she’s been on sporadically this season, if the author of Henry’s book and how it got to him are suppose to be big reveals, I can’t see it being her. Of course, it might turn out not to be a big deal.

ParticipantI have my own little theory on who Greg is and I won’t have more to credit it till after Tiny airs but it does have a lot to do with a plot in Star Wars . We shall see. I have begun to think it was August who wrote the book after all also and he showed Neal Rumple story

The eye color is what breaks it for me. Hair color changes (I guess) but eye color really doesn’t. But I like the theory that this kid inspires Regina to want to adopt a kid of her own.

It seems clear that Owen will have a part in making Regina want to adopt a child. Young Greg? Young Hook? A complete outsider?

KeymasterMy money is on a Young Greg. Have we seen him in actual Storybrooke? Or just on set? To me, that’s a big difference. If he’s in SB, then he’s a FTL character, but if he’s just on set, it could be outside the town and I think we’re going to see that Greg has some history with SB.

ParticipantThe chase scene in this episode could be Regina trying to catch them ????? And perhaps they make it to the line and escape? Far fetched? Too much?? 🙄 o
