I think true love will factor heavily into season 2. We’ve already seen that true love has the ability to create the most powerful magic in the world, so I think those who possess it will have a greater advantage next season. Particularly with the magic Rumpel released into Storybrooke. I think only those who have true love in their lives can access the magic. I honestly don’t see why Rumpel would release all that magic knowing that it would give Regina a leg up. It makes no sense. I think he released it knowing that everyone would be able to use it except Regina.

That’s a very good point and I would love that twist.

I think you just nailed it. Rumpel wouldn’t allow all of these various magical creatures to use magic unless it would benifit him in some way. And since the new magic is true love, Regina may end up being the only one who won’t be able to use it. Daniel is dead and we can’t be too sure of her love for Henry. So, she’s the only one without true love by her side. Emma has Henry, Snow has Charming and Rumpel has Belle and Baelfire isn’t too far off in the distance. The writers wanted to reunite all the characters with their true loves in the season finale for a reason. True love will be the greatest asset of all next season.

Good point. The writers made a point of constantly reminding us that magic is unpredictable in this world. So, even if Rumpel thought he had a good grasp on the situation, he could have easily been wrong. There’s no way to predict these sort of things.

I’ve been thinking the EXACT same thing. Because the rules in this world are vastly different from those back in Fairytale land, I think the catch will be that the person who used the magic true love must also have their own true love. If this is the case, then Regina is going to be in some serious trouble in season 2.

Good question. I think grandchildren count too. Granny raised Red from the time she was a baby (presumably), so she probably sees Red as her own child.
